Intimate Southwest Colorado Wedding in the Mountains

January 14, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Photo by Lauren Johnson // http://laurenparkerphotography.com

Ali and Blake are your quintessential adventure couple, so it’s only fitting that their Southwest Colorado wedding was nothing short of exciting! The couple filled their wedding with personalized details, handmade by themselves, their friends, and their family. The most spectacular of these details was Ali’s bell-sleeve and guipure lace dress that was made by her mother-in-law. The gold and wood accents they used for the table décor perfectly tie in the rustic Colorado mountain vibe. Lauren Parker Photography worked her photography and videography magic to capture the pure joy and love in this wedding.

We wanted to create something intimate, unique, personal, and not mainstream. We wanted the locale to be meaningful to our history together and beautiful enough to justify the trip itself for our guests, so we selected a town in which we had our first mountain adventure together in the very beginning of our relationship. We wanted the guest list limited to those with whom we’ve shared real experiences and relationships. We wanted to involve our friends and family in the whole creative process. And we wanted to make every attempt to limit costs as much as possible.

I wore a handmade dress that my mother-in law made. It was pure white with bell sleeves and guipure lace. I also made a necklace the night before using gemstones and Swarovski crystal beads.

I gave my husband an antique handmade knife I’d found in Colorado. I attached a personalized note and asked someone to deliver it for me the morning of the wedding. He was absolutely thrilled!

We would never have been able to do it without our family and friends! All of the signs and many of the table decorations were made by Blake’s sister. Ali’s grandmother made the floral arrangements and our friends put together the bridal bouquet and boutonnieres. Ali’s aunt and uncle made all of the reception food, and her dad made the big “LOVE” light-up sign. It was truly a team effort!

Charming Christmas Tree Farm Wedding Inspiration

January 13, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

This Christmas tree farm wedding inspiration is a beautiful blend of coziness and sophistication. The brilliant minds at JM Wedding Group focused the shoot around a burgundy and copper palette that created a warm and romantic feel, despite the chilly temperatures. B. Matthews Creative captured every detail so beautifully, from the nearly naked chocolate cake from Patticakes Bakery to the delicate invitations by KB Calligraphy. We’re also completely in love the bride’s vintage glam look in a Calla Blanche lace gown, soft romantic waves, and smokey makeup. If you’re in need of some seriously gorgeous winter wedding inspiration, you’ve come to the right place!

This Headlands Center for the Arts Wedding is As Sweet as Can Be

January 13, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

When Sarah and Jon visited Headlands Center for the Arts as a potential wedding venue, it was love at first sight. Drawing inspiration from the arts center’s creative energy, the couple chose a minimal vibe and incorporated meaningful, artistic elements to represent themselves as individuals and as a couple. Ampersand flower shop used bright pops of color in the floral arrangements, which made the space feel fresh and natural, and worked perfectly with the couple’s pink and gold color palette. Amy Winningham Photography did a masterful job capturing every sweet detail while focusing on the romantic big picture of this beautiful day!

Jon’s sister made the altar hanging with twine, a hula hoop, straws, spray paint, and fishing line. We added the air plants after.

Our advice to other couples is to take time to focus on the relationship. It was easy to get distracted by the work, details, and stress of the event, that sometimes we lost sight of why we were having the event in the first place. We took some days to just have fun with one another with no wedding tasks involved. Also, do your research. There are a lot of good resources out there with tons of information!

For the table names, we went around SF taking photos and printed them out. We also collected wine bottles and cut corks to hold the photos.
