When it comes to wedding styles, modern weddings and rustic weddings have always been the leaders of the pack – so it came as no surprise to us when we started noticing couples combining both styles! Modern rustic weddings are a gorgeous way to express your stylish tastes in a warm and cozy environment. Read on to get inspired with our 7 favorite ways to decorate a modern rustic wedding!

1. Minimalist Barn Venue

It all starts with the venue! Set the tone for your modern rustic wedding with a gorgeous minimalist barn venue. While minimalist barns are often located on a farm and come with built-in rustic vibes, they also echo a lot of the same features that industrial warehouses offer: large epic spaces, versatility, and modern vibes that blend perfectly with a touch of rustic decor.

2. Sun-Drenched Neutral Tones

All of our favorite modern rustic weddings had a major feature in common: sun-drenched neutral tones! From warm ivories to bright whites, the modern rustic style is all about channeling chic vibes with an effortless color palette. This trend can shine in really any aspect of your wedding decor, from furniture to paper details to florals.

3. Modern Metallics

One of our favorite ways to slip some contemporary vibes into a rustic wedding is with modern metallics! When it comes to metallics, a little goes a long way, so pepper in fun metallic details like geometric shapes, vases, and photo frames with the rest of your decor. While any metallic tone would work, we’ve noticed many modern rustic weddings incorporating copper and rose gold details due to their ability to match warm woods and contrast with bright whites.

4. Plenty of Natural Greenery

If there were one modern rustic wedding decor idea to rule them all, it would be natural greenery. Whether it’s a hanging installation, garlands, or just tons of greenery in your bouquets, there’s nothing like natural greenery to pull together a modern rustic wedding vibe! You can never have too much greenery in your floral design.

  3. Love this! Very beautiful!

  4. I like the idea of incorporating more modern elements like metallics and geometric shapes to contrast with the rustic setting. My husband and I have been talking about having a rustic barn wedding when we get married in October. We will definitely look into including some modern pieces to sprinkle throughout the rustic decor.
