Perrine and Arnaud’s romantic garden wedding at Le Comptoir Saint Hilaire in France was filled with handmade touches and colorful wildflowers. We love how the couple incorporated bursts of color into all aspects of their wedding design. Talented photographer Marion Heurteboust perfectly captured the fun moments and amazing details at this French wedding. You have to check out the awesome candy bar!

The Couple:

Perrine and Arnaud

The Wedding:

Le Comptoir Saint Hilaire, Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas, France

The Inspiration:

We pictures a chic and relaxed in the countryside. We visited over 10 venues, and when we saw the “Comptoir Saint Hilaire” we simply found it perfect. The view is magical and the place in itself has so much character. It’s cosy and beautiful. The owner was very warm and welcoming. We felt at home and knew we would love to have all our family and friends here! We wanted a boho feel with lots of antique details, and flowers with a certain easiness to it. I wished for a pastoral bouquet with lots of greeneries. My wedding dress was created by Margaux Tardits. When I looked for a wedding dress I honestly wasn’t looking into custom made dresses. I had tried many designers without really falling in love with the dresses. I ended up realising I had an exact idea of what I wanted and that the best option would be custom made indeed. Margaux gives very good advice and she created the dress of my dreams! For the reception, we knew we didn’t want the traditional round tables. We wished for long wooden tables with flowers in the middle, vases of different heights. We added antique candle holders, wooden details, personalised matchboxes that the guests LOVED! Our wedding planners were very helpful realising the decoration and their ideas were precious! For our favors, we decided to have two mini bottles in a kraft envelop. The first one contained olive oil from the bride’s family property and the second one contained a typical drink from “Savoie”(which is where the groom is from), called: génépi. Each bottle had the initial of the bride and groom to symbolise the bottle. We also had personalised stickers with the logo we had made for our wedding!

The Moments:

It’s really hard to chose one moment since there was so much emotion throughout the whole day! I became emotional as soon as we got to city hall. Seeing all the people we love in one place and here for us made me tear up. It probably was the first time this ever happened. I also adored the outdoor ceremony our bridesmaids and groomsmen crafted for us. So moving. My entrance with my father by my side. Those 10 minutes we took during the party, just the two of us, to tell each other: “That’s it. We’re married!” Everything went like we dreamed it, and we enjoyed it!

The Couple Recommends:

Our advice to newly engaged couples is to enjoy it and share it with your future spouse! Those memories are amazing! Make your wedding festivities last as long as you can! We had a brunch the next day with all our guest, and, on top of that, we had our friends stay the entire week following the wedding! We partied for 7 days straight! Very useful to avoid wedding blues. If you can, book a videographer as well as a photographer. The memories of your wedding day are priceless.
