Atlanta Woodland-Inspired Wedding at The Foundry at Puritan Mill

Kaitlyn and Matt’s dream of having a woodland wedding was realized at their indoor Atlanta venue, The Foundry at Puritan Mill, with tons of warm marsala accents and natural greenery! We can’t get enough of Kaitlyn’s bridal party’s style: their marsala Coralie Beatrix convertible gowns and baby’s breath hair styles are perfectly romantic, while their black leather jackets give their look some edginess. The talented Vic Bonvicini Photography captured every inch of Kaitlyn and Matt’s wedding, including the breathtaking arbor Kaitlyn’s father and brother built for the ceremony!

I think our most memorable part was the first look where we had a little bit of time with just the two of us.

The bridesmaids wore Marsala convertible dresses. They each could wear it in whatever style they wanted. They all wore gold accessories that I had given them as a bridesmaid gift, and as a last minute decision, they all had baby’s breath in their hair.

Before I went wedding dress shopping I knew I wanted 3 things with my dress: lace, sleeves, and a train. I went to a couple different places but found the dress relatively easily and knew it was perfect! I think I just wanted to feel like I looked classically beautiful. Like not too much and I still wanted to feel like everything was my style, which I did.

I loved the whole vibe of the venue: that it was in the city, and it seemed like it would be the perfect backdrop for the whole vibe we wanted to go with for the wedding. Ideally I had wanted to get married in the woods in my parents back yard. However that wasn’t an option so I wanted to bring that romantic woodland feel to Atlanta. So there was lots of wood, candles, and greenery all to bring that feeling to the city.

My dad and brother built the arbor that we were married under. It was built from wood from my parents house. It meant a lot to have that and was as close as getting married in their back yard as I was going to get.

Our colors were marsala and greenery. Marsala is such a pretty fall color and was a color I knew would look good on all of the bridesmaids and also flower options are really pretty. The greenery I loved and gave the whole woodland vibe. Also, the guys wore navy suits and there were lots of neutrals in the table settings.

During the ceremony a couple things we did that were different were that we had a time of prayer with all of our families towards the end of the ceremony and we took communion together.

Our advice: Try not to stress about the little things and, if at all possible, hire at least a month out wedding planner to coordinate all of the last minute details and the day of so you don’t have to worry about it!
