Festive and Fabulous Mexico Destination Wedding in San Miguel de Allende

It’s easy to see why Emily and Rigo chose San Miguel de Allende for their Mexico destination wedding: the city is filled with color and celebration! After saying “I do” in an intimate garden ceremony at Casa Cece, the newlyweds and their guests took to the streets. The callejonada, or wedding parade, was led by a mariachi band and brightly-dressed donkey, and Blest Studios brilliantly captured all of the fun. For their reception, Emily and Rigo envisioned a feast outside of the magnificent Casa TortugasPenzi Weddings created a fabulously festive scene of vibrant fruit and flowers that reflected the spirit of San Miguel de Allende.

Elie Saab was my inspiration, but I didn’t want to devote an Elie Saab-level budget, so instead I had my dress custom made. Ethereal while feeling sophisticated and modern. Heels were Dior and jewels were family and estate. Hair was inspired by old Hollywood waves; makeup fresh, dewey and tears-proof!

The town set the tone for us, and we honored the colors, sounds, tastes and traditions of San Miguel, while blending the spice of our own personalities.

There were so many memorable moments, but the most unique was our callejonada, a wedding parade tradition local to San Miguel de Allende.

Casa Tortugas is a magical secret garden. We envisioned an abundant feast with our nearest and dearest.

We really didn’t have a set color palette. We embraced hues of warm love tones: bright orange with light peach, rose red with deep maroon. And always, natural green foliage sprinkled in.

  1. Absolutely amazing. I couldn’t think of a better place for a destination wedding. A real dream. Photographed so perfectly too!

  2. This is beautiful…

Other than the beauty and charm of bride & groom, the way and art of clicking the picture has added icing to the cake. These are perfect poses clicked at perfect time. The most important thing is their compatibility. Both of them are looking perfect with each other in love, affection, and bonding.

  8. Your color scheme was my inspiration for mine! I was wondering if the garland out on the door with the donkey was real? Do you happen to know the name of the flowers/garland? Thank you!
