Classic Meets Rustic San Antonio Wedding at Hotel Emma

August 10, 2017 | colleen

This San Antonio wedding at The Hotel Emma has all the classic elements with some rustic touches that give it a little twist. Lorena and Joel let the vibe of the venue give them inspiration for their wedding day as they played off of the architecture, wood, and natural greenery already around the space. Lorena’s bouquet, beautifully crafted by Anthemum, was a continuation of their inspiration with lots of greenery and white and ivory blooms. They wanted their celebration to be full of joy and fun, which was captured by John David Weddings and Bring Works.

The Couple:

Lorena and Joel

The Wedding:

Hotel Emma, San Antonio, Texas

The most memorable part of the day was certainly the ceremony. Its everything you expect and more! From walking down the isle with your dad to watching your groom as he is waiting for you, its just all so emotional. To have all your friends and family there witness the love you share with your significant other is just something so special. You really feel the the love in the room.

When we started wedding planning, we sat down and tried to think about what we wanted our special day to look and feel like. We wanted it to be easy, seamless, elegant and most importantly FUN! We chose The Hotel Emma because of exactly just that. It embodied an elegant, romantic, rustic vibe that we were so craving.

Processional – Train “Marry Me”
Recessional – George Harrison “My Sweet Lord”
First Dance- Father John Misty “Real Love”

We kept one room closed off during the cocktail hour, ceremony and reception. As soon as the cake was cut at 11pm, we opened up the doors to a party room with DJ Ruckus! It was set up with a stage, dance floor, up lighting, photo booth, lounge couches, a bar, high boys, glow sticks, hats, and a great outdoor patio looking over the river. We also surprised everyone with tacos and churros/dipping sauce at midnight! We had the best time and did not want the party to end!

Working with our photographer was amazing! The process was so easy and fun from start to finish. JD made us and our family feel extremely comfortable and relaxed when taking pictures. He did a great job coordinating us on what to do and where to go and finished our family photos so quickly that we had time to relax and have a drink after… now what more could you ask for!
