The Couple: Tamara and Isaac

The Wedding: 9.6.09 - San Francisco City Hall, California

What three adjectives that best describe your wedding? Elegant, classic, romantic.

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? Isaac and I knew we would be planning a big wedding given the extent of our family and friends and we wanted to create a celebration that would truly embody who we are. We really wanted our guests to experience our love and the fun we have in our beloved San Francisco. The moment we walked into San Francisco’s magnificent City Hall and saw the Rotunda stairs, we knew we had our venue. It was the perfect backdrop for the classic wedding we envisioned. Everything else, including the elegant dinner service and Art Deco Nightclub decor, just fell into place perfectly!

Because our wedding was on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, we knew we had the whole three day weekend to work with. On Saturday, we arranged for a full day of wine tasting for forty of our friends who traveled from all over the world to celebrate with us. We also enjoyed a lovely picnic at Diamond Oaks Winery, where Isaac had proposed to me. It was such beautiful day and it meant so much to Isaac and me to have this extra time with our friends.

For our rehearsal dinner, we chose Yank Sing, a famous San Francisco dim sum and Chinese restaurant, as it’s one of our favorite spots. The family style banquet created a totally casual vibe before our Black Tie wedding and the night was filled with clever toasts and laughter.

Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? One of our favorite surprises at the wedding was the divine pistachio cake with strawberry chantilly cream filling that we chose from Elegant Cheesecakes. Besides being delicious, our guests were totally shocked by the green cake when we cut into it!

We also wanted to reward those of our guests who made it to the final hour of dancing...so we served hot In N Out burgers paired with strawberry milkshakes. They were an absolute hit!

Isaac and I truly loved every moment of our wedding. We both agree, however, that the ceremony was beyond special. Our Rabbi completely captured the warmth and love that we feel for each other and our delight in our marriage.

What was your wedding color palette? Ivory, peach, silver and sage.
