I don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of the Riviera Maya that didn’t immediately make me wish I was there soaking up some sun, but this intimate, Banyan Tree Resort wedding from Michigan-based destination wedding photographers Bryan and Mae has me looking up airline rates today! A gorgeous location, gorgeous couple and, of course, gorgeous photos – thanks for sharing your wedding with us Suri and Marco!

What three adjectives best describe your wedding? Charming, intimate, magical
What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? Our wedding style was inspired by the simple intention of creating a charming and intimate wedding for our families with a sense of place in a beautiful oceanfront setting. We added many personal details and touches like the bamboo gazebo with ivory tropical flowers, garden chairs with personalized hand painted name tags, and a petate runner on the center isle to complete the casual yet refined look. Hand made cones with rose petals for the family were placed on each chair.
The seated dinner with a classic Spanish-influenced menu was served on a large wooden table in a private restaurant surrounded by a small river. Again, many personalized hand crafted details completed the look. In this case we mostly used lavender tones to add color accents.
Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? Suri: Having my mother with me throughout the wedding day and walking me down the aisle was very important and special for me. Another memorable moment was when I arrived at the beach and I saw my future husband and our families waiting, and looking at my nephews and niece ready to announce my entrance with signs in both German and Spanish.
Marco: The journey of planning the wedding, spending time together, selecting the venue and adding personal touches will always be in my mind. An incredible moment was being announced for the very first time as husband and wife.
What specifically drew you to Bryan and Mae and their imagery? After a long and thorough search we encountered the beautiful work of Bryan and Mae.
