I am absolutely thrilled to share Andrea and Daniel’s wedding with you today. As I was putting this post together, I was completely whisked away into an enchanting day dream filled with dancing, beautiful sunsets and the scent of olive trees floating in on a warm breeze. All of this and more was the wedding day reality for Andrea and Daniel, and they’ll be able to remember each moment again and again thanks to the elegant photography of top Italy wedding photographer Julian Kanz.
Junebug: What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Andrea and Daniel: Romantic, enchanting, fun!
Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Andrea and Daniel: Walking down a rose petal-strewn aisle amongst the olive groves, walking past beaming friends and family who had travelled a very long way to be there, towards my soon-to-be-husband. Dancing like crazy on the terrace, with magnificent views of Florence all around. The most beautiful pink sunset I have ever seen as we all sat down for dinner. At one point, Dan took me away from the table briefly so that we could have a few minutes to ourselves. We sat there, watching all our guests and marvelling over the day and the moment.
We had discussed at length whether we should just have the band play until midnight, or whether we should then continue with a DJ inside the Villa (under Italian law, no music is allowed outside after midnight). Im so pleased we decided to continue with an after party in the Villa after midnight; people just want to party!
Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Andrea and Daniel: I had a romantic yet contemporary vision of the day. Moreover, it was important for us to remain true to our style in creating a relaxed and informal atmosphere, so we avoided over-styling wherever possible. After all, the venue and location speak for themselves! The venue itself was perfect: with its close proximity to Florence where most of our guests stayed, the breathtaking views, the understated elegant Villa. From the moment I saw the olive groves, I knew I wanted the ceremony to be in that very spot. It had such a peaceful, natural and other-wordly feel; it was just perfect!
Junebug: What specifically drew you to Julian Kanz and his imagery?
Andrea and Daniel: We had viewed several photographers websites but Julians instantly stuck out. His photographs are well constructed but in the most natural way possible; arty yet fun and most importantly, they tell a story. We couldnt have wished for a better photographer and he was an absolute delight to work with on the wedding day.
