The Couple: Emily and Danny
The Wedding: 5.26.13 – Private Estate, Big Sur, California
The Photographers: Mott Visuals Weddings
Junebug: What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Emily and Danny: Personally meaningful, Heartfelt, Intimate
Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Emily and Danny: We wanted the wedding day to have a vintage feel and to help create this, we included many personal touches including family heirlooms. We also love the raw natural beauty of coastal Big Sur, California so that helped to guide our theme of rustic coastal elegance. We wanted the overall atmosphere to be intimate and cozy.
Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Emily and Danny: There are so many, it’s tough to choose! Our location at Big Sur was exquisite. Our amazing Rabbi crafted an elegant ceremony and we loved being able to share our peronsal vows. We were so happy with our decision not to see each other before the ceremony. Justin Mott was our photographer and we love him! Our wedding planner, Allison Smith was amazing and we loved the live music of Busta Groove.
Some of the personal touches that we were able to include were: a “family tree” of our family photographs, crossword puzzle in honor of our grandfather, family recipes incorporated into the catering, “library cards” for our guestbook since we first met in a library, a Polaroid photograph station, and instead of a traditional wedding cake, we decided to do something more meaningful. Our family has owned and operated Ella’s Deli, a deli and ice cream parlor, in Madison, Wisconsin, since the mid 1960’s. So in lieu of cake, we served our guests The Number One: an award-winning grilled pound cake sundae made of rich vanilla custard ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream over a generous slice of hot grilled pound cake.
Junebug: What specifically drew you to Mott Visuals Wedding Photography and their imagery?
Emily and Danny: Where do we start? His kindness and generosity, exquisite artistry, imagination and creativity, photojournalistic approach, elegant use of color and light, global perspective, and personality and professionalism, to name a few!
Congrats Emily and Danny! Thank you for sharing your day with us, I loved all the sweet, personal touches you included. Bravo to Mott Visuals Wedding for capturing this Big Sur wedding with so much romance and creativity! Visit Mott Visuals Wedding Photography blog to see more.
