The Couple: Lindsey and Brett
The Wedding: 2.9.13 – Roy’s Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawai’i
The Photographer: Christie Pham Photography
Junebug: What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Lindsey and Brett: Effortlessly classic, tropical paradise, simply timeless
Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Lindsey and Brett: We are very minimalistic, chic, and overall put-together when it comes to our style, and we tried to enhance this simplicity by employing high-quality materials/pieces in our attire, the venue, the food, etc. My dress spoke for itself and Brett is a sucker for a well-tailored suit. We tried to accent with small touches, such as his knotted purple cuff links or my clean, classic jewelry. Our venue was so inherently beautiful that we really didnt need many decorations. We rented simple mahogany chairs and added a few flowers to accent our wedding colors. We are also huge foodies, so our reception took place at Roys Ko Olina, where we knew our guests would be awed by an amazing meal. This style was weaved throughout the entire wedding I even tried to incorporate the elegant ruffling on my dress with our cake! Overall, this simplicity helped the natural beauty and splendor shine through and allowed our day to be truly reflective of us.
Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Lindsey and Brett: First and foremost, our best decision was location. We initially had planned on a local Michigan wedding, but after a trip to Hawaii we threw out our original ideas and opted to have a destination wedding BEST. DECISION. EVER.
Junebug: What specifically drew you to Christie Pham Photography and her imagery?
Lindsey and Brett: Photography was the one variable that Brett and I felt very strongly about when it came to wedding planning. Basically, besides our actual vows to one another, we felt like capturing this special day was of the utmost importance. The search was exhausting, especially since all we could go off of were blogs and online recommendations as we were in Michigan trying to find vendors in Hawaii (talk about a time and distance disaster!). However, after seeing Christies work and easily communicating with her via e-mail, Brett and I knew she was our front-runner. Her photographs were timeless and we felt as if we were a part of the weddings she was capturing. We knew these couples, shared their day, laughed and cried with them, and fell in love with their love story all because of what Christie was able to do with her camera. A close friend and wedding planner, Shannon Gail of Shannon Gail Weddings and Events, gave me some sound advice when I showed her Christies blog. She said that Christie doesnt have to edit the photos to make the wedding beautiful. She simply captures real images beautifully. Her photos are timeless and classic. Therefore, in fifty years when we are looking back on the best day of our lives, we can relive it as if it were yesterday.
