Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Rachel and Zach: When we started to plan our wedding day, we wanted a classic, elegant, warm, and romantic setting for us and our guests. We both have always recognized and acknowledged our old souls and really wanted to incorporate that into our wedding day. Our venue played a huge role in the execution of what we wanted to project to our guests. It was off the beaten path, a plain red brick building from the outside, but inside was filled with antique treasures and finds. It had a very aged appeal to it with so much character. We had so much fun going through all of the props and deciding which pieces would go where. The building was almost a symbol of the epitome of what we wanted our wedding to be. Understated but exquisite. We wanted our guests to walk in and not know what to expect. Our florist, Yena Jung really made our imagination come to reality with her eye for design and how the floral arrangements were made.
Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Rachel: Aside from finally saying ‘I do…My favorite moment was before the ceremony when Zach and I signed our Ketubah with all of our close friends and family in the room while our Rabbi gave an amazing explanation of the tradition. The ceremony officially sealed our marriage but in that moment, I felt that it was all really happening and that moment will forever stick out in my memory and hold a special place in my heart.
Junebug: What specifically drew you to Samuel Lippke Studios and their imagery?
Rachel: The best way to describe Samuel’s photography would be royal or distinguished. Each of his photos in his portfolio stressed an importance in each scene that was captured. You never questioned why it was taken, you automatically knew at first glance. We wanted to stress the importance of our day, of our family, of our friends, of our new lives together. This day was royal for us, and Samuel was the person to capture that feel without it requiring a written caption below each photo taken.
