The Couple: Rachel and Doug
The Wedding: 2.16.13 – The Powel Crosley Estate, Sarasota, Florida
The Photographer: JSP Studios
Junebug: What adjectives best describe your wedding?
Rachel and Doug: Ceremony – romantic, emotional, meaningful. Reception – lively, breathtaking, magical.
Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Rachel: I was inspired by the venue, The Powel Crosley Estate, a 1920s mansion with mediterranean architectural influences on the bay. I incorporated items like bettina candelabra centerpieces, a crystal chandelier and light canopy, and all black linens to enhance the distinguished vibe the estate already exudes. The black-tie dress was the finishing touch; the mens tuxedos and the womens gowns really brought out the classic, romantic style I hoped to create. Doug and I showed our personalities through our wardrobe – check out Doug and his groomsmens shoes! I wore an organza gown with volume, paired with a birdcage veil – a timeless style. Finally, we incorporated our favorite foods throughout the night including a root beer float bar during dessert!
Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
<bDoug and I agree our ceremony was the highlight of our wedding. Grace, our officiant, is a genuinely caring person with an innate ability to bring out true emotion during her ceremonies. We laughed and cried, we honored our families with a custom ring ceremony, my cousin sang, and our dogs (not in attendance) were even included! Regarding decisions I feel our choice in vendors really topped our expectations. From the flowers to the DJ and everything in between – they couldnt have been more perfect! They made our wedding a memorable, meaningful, and gorgeous event.
Junebug: What specifically drew you to JSP Studio and their imagery?
Rachel and Doug: Jon was the first vendor we chose, and we did it without hesitation. Its easy to see that he takes great pride in his artistry (and thats what he is: an artist). His ability to capture emotions is incredible; all of his photos tell a story. He breaks the mold when it comes to wedding photography and he has a way of commanding any situation so the couple gets all the photos they could ever want on a day when its easy to get sidetracked. He is comfortable in his element because he really is the best. We considered ourselves lucky to have him capture our wedding.
