Surrounded by towering trees, the farm’s natural beauty provided a stunning <\/span>ceremony<\/span><\/a> backdrop. All that was needed were <\/span>floral pillars<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>grounded arrangements<\/span><\/a> to frame the moment they exchanged loving <\/span>vows<\/span><\/a> at the altar. For the tented reception that followed, they incorporated a tablescape adorned with vintage accents, wild garden blooms, and bread, fruit, and nuts as decor. The pair elevated the vibe by adding string lights above the alfresco setting.<\/span><\/p>\n

How Their Farmhouse Backyard Wedding Came To Be<\/span><\/h2>\n

When <\/span>planning<\/span><\/a> our wedding, we wanted it to feel like a giant dinner party versus <\/span>a traditional wedding<\/span><\/a>. We had to cancel our first wedding in Mallorca, Spain, due to Covid, and our best friend generously stepped in and offered their country house, The Roost. Our <\/span>venue<\/span><\/a> was a beautiful modern farmhouse in upstate NY, and we wanted to complement the space. We went with a contemporary rustic\/farm style, lots of unpolished woods, muted color linens, wildflowers, and long tables filled with fresh bread, fruits, and nuts as tabletop decor. Finding rentals for our <\/span>vision<\/span><\/a> was hard, so we sourced much of the <\/span>decor<\/span><\/a> from different Etsy vendors and the big stuff from a rental company called North County Vintage.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Personalizing Their Ceremony By Having Their Best Friend Officiate<\/span><\/h2>\n

Our <\/span>ceremony<\/span><\/a> was extra special because I had my best friend, Virginia–who’salso the house owner–officiate the wedding. Her <\/span>speech<\/span><\/a> was so personalized and beautiful. It really set the mood for the rest of the night.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
