Between the ever-changing restrictions, having to <\/span>alter their guest list<\/span><\/a>, and keeping guests health and safety in mind, there have been many challenges couples have faced while <\/span>wedding planning<\/span><\/a> recently. Luckily for Nikki and Rodger, the two wanted to have an outdoor wedding regardless of the <\/span>pandemic<\/span><\/a>. So when Nikki’s father suggested <\/span>Stone Park at Viridian<\/span><\/a>, they knew it was the <\/span>perfect venue<\/span><\/a> for their outdoor Texas wedding.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two said “I do” in a lakeside pavilion that was decked out in blush and baby blue florals arranged by <\/span>From A to Z Design<\/span><\/a> before making their way to a tented reception. The whimsical elements carried over into dinner with <\/span>hanging greenery<\/span><\/a>, botanic linens, and two floral <\/span>wedding cakes<\/span><\/a> from <\/span>Pinch of Salt Pastries<\/span><\/a>. Not to mention the bridesmaids wore matching flower crowns which matched the decor perfectly.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the surprise fireworks show to the <\/span>firetruck<\/span><\/i> send-off, photographer and Junebug member <\/span>Laning Photography<\/span><\/a> did a beautiful job capturing every detail of the chic affair. <\/span><\/p>\n

A Memorable First Look<\/span><\/h2>\n

The <\/span>first look<\/span><\/a> was definitely one of our favorite parts of the day. Getting to have that time together in the midst of such a full day of people and events was truly special. We met up on the bridge where Rodger proposed, so it was really fun to come full circle like that.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Why An Outdoor Texas Wedding<\/span><\/h2>\n

I always knew I wanted an <\/span>outdoor venue<\/span><\/a>, but with <\/span>COVID<\/span><\/a> still being a factor, I didn’t want to be overly restricted or settle based on availability. My dad is one of the developers of Viridian and suggested that we have the wedding at a park they were finishing developing. Between the stream, waterfalls, and view of the lake, we were sold! Plus, Viridian is a community near and dear to my family’s heart, which made it extra special.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The Lavish Yet Simple Design<\/span><\/h2>\n

The <\/span>overall look and design<\/span><\/a> of our wedding stemmed from the desire for an outdoor wedding with a few lavish elements and some simple touches. <\/span>The venue<\/span><\/a> was a park in a master community. That really shaped some of the design in terms of using a pavilion for the ceremony and then flipping it to become the <\/span>dance floor<\/span><\/a> while serving dinner in a beautiful clear-top tent nearby. We really wanted our day to entail details that represented us while creating a fun evening for our friends and family to come together and just enjoy. Our wedding planner, <\/span>Jen Rios<\/span><\/a>, did an incredible job tying together all of these elements.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Wedding Day Surprises<\/span><\/h2>\n

We had two wedding day surprises for our guests. One was a fireworks show over the lake, and the other was an exit on a firetruck. Rodger is a firefighter and paramedic, so it was really cool that the neighborhood fire station was willing to play a part in honoring our day.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
