How To Start Your Wedding Budget<\/span><\/h2>\n

Chris and I knew we would be funding our wedding entirely out of our own pockets. With our costs of day-to-day life, we knew we had to be realistic about <\/span>our budget<\/span><\/a>. We also didn’t want to put a financial strain on ourselves or rack up tons of debt. So we sat down, <\/span>did a little research<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>came up with a budget<\/span><\/a> based on our findings and what we felt comfortable with.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Chris would say food and drinks and I would say photography, so I would say those two walked hand in hand for us. Because we were prioritizing food we had <\/span>an open bar<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>a formal sit-down dinner<\/span><\/a> for our guests.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Be Proud Of Staying In Budget<\/span><\/h2>\n

We’re so proud that we managed to stay within our wedding budget and we really managed to <\/span>tie personality into<\/span><\/a> so many different parts of the day. Our wedding was really about us and not just having pretty things.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Advice For Couples With Similar Budgets<\/span><\/h2>\n

The most important piece of advice we can share is that <\/span>you shouldn’t sweat the small stuff<\/span><\/a>. Decide early on what you can’t live without and build off of that. Your friends and family are just excited to celebrate the both of you that they will never remember every little detail you think you need to have. If you’re handy, definitely make as much as you can with what you already have, it saves a ton of money on decor!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The Best Advice—Regardless Of Your Budget<\/span><\/h2>\n

Enjoy the process of planning your wedding! So many couples get hung up on every single detail or minor setback that they don’t even <\/span>enjoy the planning process<\/span><\/a>. That was such an enjoyable part for us. We loved the planning.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Personalizing Their Greenhouse Wedding Ceremony<\/span><\/h2>\n

We worked very closely with our officiant and <\/span>wrote our own vows<\/span><\/a> to personalize our ceremony. It was very personal and I’m pretty sure our vows made the entire room cry. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Charity Donations In Lieu of Favors<\/span><\/h2>\n

Instead of giving out wedding favors we actually donated to two different charities (<\/span>Wounded Warrior Project<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Puppies Behind Bars<\/span><\/a>) in our guests’ honor. Both programs directly benefit veterans and that’s important to us because my husband is a Marine Corps veteran.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

DIY Decor With Special Details<\/span><\/h2>\n

We basically <\/span>DIY’d everything<\/span><\/a> as far as decor. My husband and I are super into archery and we wanted to work details about that hobby into our decor. For our escort cards, I made faux arrows that we put onto a target that we made together. The target and arrows were all painted in our wedding colors and it was perfect. Our guests really loved that personalized detail. Because I have experience in graphic design I also made all of <\/span>our signage<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Working with Junebug Photographer <\/span>Elle Studios<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n

Our photographer was amazing. I’ve worked with her several other times and choosing her for our big day was really a no-brainer. She carried my dress, my veil, and welcomed all my chaos. I honestly just let her do her thing without <\/span>a shot list<\/span><\/a> and trusted that she would deliver. That’s exactly what she did. She took this one photo of us walking down the aisle and we were both just all smiles. It’s one of my absolute favorites. She captured this purely candid moment that really set the tone for the rest of the night.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
