After spending countless hours scrolling through Pinterest, the couple noticed they were always drawn to Marrakech, which led them to host their own minimalist Moroccan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/junebugweddings.com\/wedding-blog\/16-elopement-ideas-make-your-small-wedding-special\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">elopement<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\nWith the help of planners from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.riadalloune.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Riad Al Loune<\/span><\/a>, the magical, laidback elopement was complete with a ceremony in the heart of the desert, portraits by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oneheart-experience.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">One Heart Experience<\/span><\/a> in the marketplace, and a sunset camel ride to end the day. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Their Videographer’s Take On The Big Day<\/span><\/h2>\nJunebug member <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemaofpoetry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A Cinema of Poetry<\/span><\/a> accompanied them as their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/junebugweddings.com\/vendors\/wedding-videographers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">videographer<\/span><\/a> for the day, and this is what he had to say regarding intimate “I do’s.”<\/span><\/p>\nThis is the story of a mixed couple that met through friends, but they realized that they were meant to be together a year later. They traveled from Portugal and exchanged vows of love in a symbolic elopement ceremony in the Marrakech desert. I create a lot of <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/junebugweddings.com\/wedding-blog\/5-steps-making-wedding-mood-board\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">mood boards<\/span><\/i><\/a> on <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/junebugweddings\/_created\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Pinterest<\/span><\/i><\/a>, and a lot of them have this Moroccan vibe and style. And, we always wanted to visit Marrakech, discover its culture, and explore the medina’s narrow streets as well as the famous vibrant marketplace. This is <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/junebugweddings.com\/wedding-blog\/the-ultimate-guide-to-finding-your-wedding-venue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">how the “where” of our elopement was decided<\/span><\/i><\/a>. We wanted something quiet and more private, and a big event was not in <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/junebugweddings.com\/wedding-blog\/how-to-create-the-best-wedding-budget-for-you-and-your-partner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">our budget<\/span><\/i><\/a> at that time. So we thought “this is it. The <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/junebugweddings.com\/wedding-blog\/10-unique-tips-for-writing-your-wedding-vows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">wedding vows<\/span><\/i><\/a> were honest and romantic. He had already been in Marrakech, so we were able to explore the streets with him the day after the elopement. He told us a lot about their culture and actually saved us from a few scary situations. Since we spent more than just one day together we had the time to get to know each other better, too. He focused more on our story through short interviews that helped to reveal the essence of our relationship.
