Jessica and Chris’ outdoor wedding at No Business Lodge<\/a> was a little boho, a little modern, and a whole lot of beautiful from top to bottom! Combing their love for bohemian style, their ability to create impressive DIY projects, and their desire for their wedding day to look and feel timeless, they and their planner from Emily Aitken Events<\/a> put together one unforgettable celebration in the mountains of Idaho. Rust + Thistle Floral<\/a> took cues from the natural landscape in creating floral designs with an autumnal vibe, most notably for the bride’s textural bouquet and the bridesmaids’ asymmetrical copper hoops. From first look to break dancing on the dance floor, Maggie Grace Photography<\/a> was there to capture every moment of this incredible late-summer mountain wedding!<\/p>\n

Letterpress is my all-time favorite when it comes to paper goods. I got a Letterpress starter kit and a die cutting manual machine. With the help of Boxcar Press<\/a>‘s blog and their plate-making service, I managed to make some goodies for our wedding! I made the map, directions, and RSVP cards. I also designed the vellum cover and a detail card. I also printed the envelopes and the attach liners, designed with brushed patterns from artist Dinara May<\/a>. As a final touch, I wrapped the invitation suites with copper thread and added some greenery.<\/em><\/p>\n

My walk down the aisle song was “Saturday Sun” by Vance Joy. We chose this because after 6 months of chatting after we met on Tinder, we met in person in LA, and it was a sunny Saturday in February. The lyric, “Saturday sun, I met someone, out on the west coast,” just fit us!<\/em><\/p>\n

I had 20 or so friends coming from Taiwan and they’re all PARTY ANIMALS! So, I knew our venue had to be somewhere that we could be as loud as we want, with no time limits, and space for us all to pass out right after the party. No Business Lodge<\/a> was beyond perfect for our situation!<\/em><\/p>\n

As much as I love boho style, I didn’t want everything to be super boho. I also wanted to tie in some modern, timeless feels. That’s why I decided to make a few different copper geometric shapes of hoops for my bridesmaids and have our awesome florist add her amazing work! For the favors, we wanted something our guests could use in the future that also had some boho tones to remind them of the mountains. So, we went with mini dream catchers made of mini gold rings and cotton rope of colors cream and grey. We also made leather keychains with one side that said, “Idaho,” and one side that said, “ni shea” (our last names).<\/em><\/p>\n

In Taiwan, the brides usually change outfit 3-5 times for different parts of the day, but that sounded too crazy for me. So, I only had a traditional red dress. While my mom was picking fabric for her dress, she found a beautiful red fabric that was just right for me! We thought it’d be fun if my husband also got a traditional jacket so we were a pair. So, we Facetimed with the tailor in Taiwan, did the measurements, and everything just fit perfectly. <\/em><\/p>\n
