Kristiana and Karl’s wedding at The Market at Grelen<\/a> was all charm and all heart, and we can’t get enough! From the hand-embroidered table numbers to the DIY garland and fabric ceremony arch and even the bridesmaids’ bouquets, every detail of this wedding was made with love and designed to effortlessly fit with the organic vibe of the venue. The emerald green color they chose for the groom’s suit, bridesmaids’ dress, and decor even added a luxurious feel while still maintaining the natural, slightly folksy look. But what really set this wedding apart were the intimate moments that Andrew Edwards Photography<\/a> captured throughout the day, especially the sweet moment when Kristiana and Karl took turns washing each other’s feet before the ceremony. It’s truly the most special thing when a couple makes every part of their wedding day into a gesture of love for each other, for the party who stands beside them, and for the guests who showed up to support them!<\/p>\n

We DIY-ed a few things: While the bridal bouquet was made by a florist, the bridesmaids made DIY bouquets the night before the wedding (so fun)! Kristiana<\/span> hand-embroidered all of the table numbers and made the seating chart. Our beautiful arch decor and table decor were put together by a friend the day-of, and Karl<\/span> is a graphic designer and designed the entire paper suite for our wedding!<\/em><\/p>\n

Our advice: make sure you rely on your tribe — the people who are closest to you make all the difference. Don’t be afraid to go to them for encouragement or a shoulder to cry on. Also, make sure your relationship isn’t all about your wedding all the time. Schedule in time to ask about them and how they are doing. Make time to prepare for your marriage, not just your wedding — your marriage will last longer than your wedding day. We made sure we did pre-marital counseling, had wedding-free-zone dates, and did a ton of reading\/podcast-listening (favorite podcast: the Anatomy of Marriage). It was all so worth it!<\/em><\/p>\n

The dancing was definitely the most memorable part of the day! Our first dance still gives us goosebumps, Kristiana<\/span>‘s father\/daughter dance was to a song that her dad would sing nearly every morning to get everyone out of bed, and Karl<\/span>‘s mother\/son dance was so emotional and beautiful. We absolutely loved partying with all of our best friends! The bridesmaids had all learned a line dance to September by Earth Wind & Fire<\/a> during Kristiana<\/span>‘s bachelorette weekend, and teaching it to the whole bridal party during the reception was so, so special. We still can’t listen to September without thinking of our wedding day (and maybe busting out a fun dance move or two)!<\/em><\/p>\n
