So much for “something blue”: Liley and Michael painted their Newland Barn<\/a> wedding in shades of blue from top to bottom! Everything from the groom’s attire to the bride’s hydrangea bouquet and bride’s suede boots were a beautiful shade of navy blue that added a breath of fresh air to their bohemian vibe. After their outdoor ceremony in front of a gorgeous gazebo, the couple had an al fresco reception under the stars that featured handmade lawn games, tacos, and Pinkberry<\/a> frozen yogurt. As if that wasn’t enough California goodness, Liley even surprised her husband and all the guests with a late-night In-N-Out<\/a> truck! In addition to the outdoor party, they set up the coziest lounge area inside the venue’s barn using couches, pillows, tables, and a steamer trunk from their home and the bride’s sister’s home. Every DIY project and thrift store find added to the charm of this bohemian California wedding, and Sarah Seashell Weddings<\/a> could not have captured it all more perfectly!<\/p>\n

We loved our ceremony, one of our dearest friends married us and so that was special having him up there marrying us. Our personal vows that we exchanged were my very favorite part, we have been waiting to make those declarations to each other for a long time and so to be able to do so on our eighth anniversary of being with each other was everything.<\/em><\/p>\n

Make sure you incorporate special moments and details that are unique to both of you as a couple. Our guests commented mosts on these aspects of our wedding (barn lounge, decorations, florals, lawn games, vows, etc). It is very easy to get caught up in Pinterest and all the DIY projects so make sure you are actually saving money by doing it yourself. Make it fun, think about your guests as well and curate an experience for them. This is the best day of your lives and guests will appreciate the little details you put into the special day. After it is all said and done, unplug from everyone and just love on each other and enjoy your new adventure as husband and wife!<\/em><\/p>\n

Also, start planning as soon as you get engaged! Time flies so fast when you’re are planning and the more time you can take in figuring out the details, the better and less stressed you will be. Figure out what your must-haves are if you are on a budget and try to incorporate some DIY details. It gives your special day a personal touch and guests will appreciate and notice the personal touches. Most importantly, have fun with it and remember that this special day is for the two of you<\/em><\/p>\n

We gave our guests little heart shaped bird seed favors. We call each other “bird” and so we loved that the little favor tag said: “From the Lovebirds.” We also loved that they were eco-friendly!<\/em><\/p>\n

One of my favorite moments involved a special surprise vendor: In-N-Out<\/a>! My husband loves In-N-Out and kept telling me that we would end up driving through there at the end of the night. I planned a surprise for him towards the latter part of our wedding evening and ordered him and our guests an In-N-Out truck for a late night snack option. He was beside himself and our guests loved it!<\/em><\/p>\n
