By combining their love of nature, a minimalist-meets-boho style, and elements of their Hispanic heritage, Jenny and Eddie created a truly memorable wedding at Life’s Finer Moments<\/a> lodge. They wanted their wedding to highlight the natural beauty of Kansas for their out-of-town guests, and we think they nailed it by only using three antique doors for their ceremony backdrop and letting the open pasture speak for itself. For the reception, they focused on simple boho details borrowed from and created by the bride’s sister. It’s hard to pick one favorite moment of this lovely celebration, but we must admit we love that Jenny and Eddie snuck out of their reception for a sunset session with Lindsey Noel Photography<\/a>!<\/p>\n

The most important thing was that we included each other in all of the wedding decisions. We wanted it to be ours, not just mine or his. He did the planning and executing, and I did the big picture and aesthetics. We made a great team!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At first, we wanted a minimalist look with greenery. We just started buying things we liked at thrift stores, and I actually borrowed a lot of my sisters home decorations. She has a very boho vibe so it all fell together and accidentally became a very simple boho vibe wedding, which we absolutely loved!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Our vision for the ceremony was to share with our friends and family the love of Jesus and to celebrate together what He had done and would do in our lives as husband and wife. We also chose to write our own vows, which made it much more personal and intimate for us. And finally, since we are both hispanic but most of our friends are not, we chose to honor both our Hispanic and American family and friends by having a bilingual ceremony.<\/em><\/p>\n

My parents surprised us with a mariachi band! We looked for one everywhere but they were either booked or extremely out of our budget. My parents told us during the rehearsal dinner and I literally cried! It was the perfect touch to bringing some Mexican spice to our special day.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Our advice: The details do not matter, so do not stress over them! What matters the most is your bride\/groom and your family and friends. Our wedding was so windy, my veil flew off as I was walking down the aisle and none of out door decorations worked out like we planned. A lot of things didn’t go as planned but we were so giddy with excitement that we did not care about any of that stuff.<\/em><\/p>\n

Technically, I didn’t DIY anything but I have extremely talented sisters! Pamela is an amazing artist. We took some old windows that our landlord let us keep after she replaced some at our house. I gave her what I wanted on them and the font and she made them. They look professional! She also made the backdrop in our reception with the giant M for McDonald. Seriously, she is so talented!<\/em><\/p>\n

The most memorable part of the day was when we “snuck out” of our reception for a sunset photo shoot. It was our first time away from everyone as husband and wife and, as you may be able to tell in the photos, we were lost in each other’s eyes and couldn’t let each other go. It was such an intimate moment and we love that Lindsey captured that in such an amazing and beautiful way.<\/em><\/p>\n
