Leyla and Mathew love the natural mood of redwood forests, so for their wedding, they brought their guests out to the middle of a forest for two elegant ceremonies and a romantic tented reception. The bride is Persian-American, so the couple decided on having a traditional Persian ceremony to honor her roots following their western ceremony. Photographer Bethany Carlson<\/a> captured every gorgeous detail of Leyla and Mathew’s estate wedding, including the fresh and greenery-inspired décor the couple chose to complement their outdoor venue’s organic vibes. A huge storm on the radar threatened the couple’s outdoors-only wedding, so their planner Coastside Couture<\/a> worked around the clock with their talented team of vendors to ensure that the entire space was tented in preparation for the rain – the results were gorgeous, and the guests stayed perfectly dry!<\/p>\n

From the planner: The Island Farm is an enchanted private estate nestled in the middle of a redwood forest off the coast of Central California. This venue impresses with its towering redwood groves, rustic log cabins, and a tranquil pond.<\/em><\/p>\n

From the planner: The bride came from a Persian-American background and wanted to incorporate both of these cultures into her wedding day. Leyla<\/span> and Mathew<\/span> wanted a traditional American ceremony that their dear friend officiated, as well as a Persian ceremony with a sofreh that included the bride’s customs and traditions. <\/em><\/p>\n

From the planner: This couple loved the outdoor nature of this venue, but wanted to make sure it felt like a classy affair, using a neutral color palette and greenery to play up the beautiful nature surrounding them. As we began discussing design details, we decided on gorgeous neutral linens from La Tavola to dress up the space, farm tables to incorporate the natural wood, and market lights strung from the magnificent redwoods throughout the property for a romantic glow. <\/em><\/p>\n

From the planner: As the wedding date got closer, it turned out that one of the biggest storms of the year was going to blow through on their wedding day, which was extremely unlucky given that this venue was entirely outdoors (without any indoor options). We closely watched the weather pattern everyday, and a few days before their wedding decided it was crucial to tent as much of the venue as we could. Because the space is uniquely shaped we could not do one large tent in the area, but instead had to combine several small tents in order to fit with the various heights and shapes of the venue (all while avoiding the trees).<\/em><\/p>\n

From the planner: Classic Party Rentals came through putting up some last minute tents in the pouring rain, as Bay Area Event Lights decorated the inside of the tents with more twinkle lights and chandeliers. We draped the tents with airy chiffon material to create a romantic look, and the result was an intimate and charming setting that the bride and groom (as well as myself) were thrilled about!<\/em><\/p>\n

From the planner: The vendor team on this wedding was exceptional as we all worked a 15 hour day in a downpour, and the wedding day turned out beautifully! The bride and groom were ecstatic – which is what it is all about!<\/em><\/p>\n
