Every detail of Devan and Matthew’s Long Beach wedding gets the combo of modern style and industrial charm so right! Set in a historic downtown venue, Howl<\/a>, the couple’s take on modern romance was brought to life by the expert planners at Sweet Peach Planning<\/a>, with a lot of design and DIY guidance by the bride. The couple’s fun-loving and artistic personalities went into every element of their day, from the custom poster with a quote from “The Princess Bride” to the pun-tastic sticker on the bags of coffee they gave to each guest. Keeping with the artistic spirit, we love how photographer Jaicee Morgan<\/a> captured photos from unique angles and perspectives to give us a complete look into Devan and Matthew’s entire day!<\/p>\n

We chose not to do a first look. Matthew<\/span> really wanted to see me for the first time that day as I walked down the aisle. We were both already crying before I turned the corner to walk down the aisle, but when our eyes met, we both broke down completely. I sobbed the whole way down the aisle. All the stress melted and the real reason we were there – to say our vows to each other, to promise to be each other’s forever – became completely clear again.<\/em><\/p>\n

We wrote our own vows, in addition to reciting the traditional vows. I had hand-written them for us to read. We tearfully recited them to each other in front of our guests. Only later did we realize that we were probably the only ones who could hear them! The microphone wasn’t close enough as we were speaking, so our personal vows became our incredibly intimate vows.<\/em><\/p>\n

We really love coffee and we pretty much developed that love together. Neither of us liked it when we stared dating but we now have an espresso machine in our apartment! So we gave each of our guests a generous serving of coffee beans. Our wedding favors doubled as our place cards, as well. Each favor had a sticker with the guest’s name on it, and the very cheesy but fitting pun, “Thanks for bean here! Let us treat you to a something brewed.”<\/em><\/p>\n
