Do you ever feel like reception spaces get all the love, while ceremony spaces are where the magic really happens? We love a stunning reception venue as much as the next blogger, but it’s the place where you say “I do” that we often find most remarkable. Because we like to shake things up a bit, we’re sharing nine of our favorite unique ceremony spaces. From a glass greenhouse to a moonlit stage to an empty swimming pool, get ready to be wowed by these amazing spots for tying the knot!<\/p>\n
What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique:<\/strong> Daiane and Steven said “I do” in an intimate ceremony that took place in a treehouse — yes, an actual treehouse! Each one of their guests circled around a tall tree on a wooden platform suspended above the forest floor, making for one of the most unique ceremony spaces we’ve ever seen.<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique:<\/strong> Kristen and Phillip were inspired by Pixar’s Up<\/em> when planning their wedding at 440 Seaton<\/a> in Los Angeles. Event planners Innovate Marketing Group<\/a> gave the couple’s ceremony a major statement with a faux-aisle runner created with chalk art that read “Youth, Hope, Love” — all themes from the beloved film. We love that a little creativity can take a traditional wedding venue and make it your own!<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique:<\/strong> The groom actually pulled this gorgeous library ceremony at Hotel de Sèze<\/a> together, with help, of course, from the talented Laura Dova Weddings<\/a> and Weday’s<\/a>. Is there anything more romantic than tying the knot in a room full of books?<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique<\/strong>:<\/strong> The UK is filled with amazing venues, but one of our favorites will also be the Victoria Baths<\/a>. As you can see, this space is quite literally an empty swimming pool! Seeing a bride walk down the swimming lane as an aisle never gets old.<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique:<\/strong> Kayla and Mark are crazy about the Gem and Mineral Exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science<\/a> — so much that they decided to get married there! The dark wine-colored carpet and walls give this space a gorgeously moody affect, which the bridal party imitated in their wedding day wear. We think Kayla and Mark’s love shines even brighter than those gemstones!<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique<\/strong>:<\/strong> Emily and Stephen said “I do” in front of a dramatic night sky backdrop, complete with a crescent moon and cafe light stars hanging from the rafters of De La Warr Pavilion<\/a>. A little bit theatrical, a whole lot romantic, we’ve never been able to get over the cool setup from Emily and Stephen’s ceremony.<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique:<\/strong> Greenhouse weddings are definitely trending as of late (have you seen our roundup of greenhouse venues?), but Rita and André’s South African greenhouse wedding has that extra something special. The glass greenhouse at Rosemary Hill<\/a> is exactly what we picture when we think of an authentic greenhouse, which gave their ceremony a natural vibe that totally fit Rita and André as a couple.<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique:<\/strong> Martha and Tony tied the knot in Joshua Tree, but the scene looked quite a bit different from most of the Joshua Tree weddings we’ve seen. Instead of saying “I do” among the notable desert trees, the creative couple opted for the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Art Museum<\/a>, where they exchanged vows in front of unique cement structures and eye-catching sculptures.<\/p>\n What Makes This Ceremony Space Unique:<\/strong> Minneapolis’ Aria<\/a> is one of our favorite venues because it can truly transform to fit the couple. To meet Stephanie and Shane’s needs, Aria became the set of a circus. Stephanie flew into her ceremony on a lyra hoop (does it get more unique than that? We’re not sure it does!) where she and Shane stood atop circus-themed pedestals surrounded by blossoming trees in the industrial space.
