Living in southern California, Kasey and Brian knew they wanted an outdoor wedding, and after searching high and low for the perfect venue, they found and fell in love with Hummingbird Nest Ranch<\/a>. They especially loved that there were separate areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Event Planner Tessa Lyn<\/a> stopped at nothing to bring Kasey and Brian’s dream wedding to life. She helped them plan out a blush, ivory, and light pink color palette that wonderfully complemented the amount of greenery that surrounds the ranch. Kelly of Wild Whim Design & Photography<\/a> captured some great shots of the couple on their big day, starting with their “first touch” and ending with a tender slow dance under a chandelier-lit night sky.<\/p>\n

We both tried to incorporate some sentimental elements – I took lace from my mothers wedding dress and had it sewn onto the back of my shoes. I also wore my grandmothers blue sapphire ring – something borrowed and blue. Brian wore his grandfathers watch that he welded by hand, and passed down to him. Both of our grandparents are deceased, so it was nice to have a little piece of them with us on our special day.<\/em><\/p>\n

The bridesmaids wore long Amsale crinkled chiffon dresses – three different styles in a blush color. The groomsmen wore black and white tuxes with a black bow tie, very classic looking!<\/em><\/p>\n

We decided not to see each other before the wedding, so walking down the aisle and seeing my husband-to-be for the first time that day, will be a “forever” memory for me! Also, instead of doing our own vows in front of everyone, we exchanged letters to each other before the ceremony. It was something very special that we were able to share between the two of us that day, and something we will be able to keep forever. <\/em><\/p>\n

I wanted something form fitted and detailed with intricate lace, and that’s exactly what I found with my Ines di Santo dress. The blush lining really added some dimension with the ivory lace over it. Since it was an all outdoor wedding in August, I also wanted something light and comfortable, so I wouldn’t overheat. I loved the long train on my dress, and actually added an extra foot to it for a more dramatic look.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our wedding colors were blush, ivory, white, and a pop of light pink roses here and there. We wanted something subtle, but elegant. The amount of greenery that surrounds hummingbird really helped to enhance the clean look we were going for.<\/em><\/p>\n
