While Meredith and Jonathan’s Historic Firehouse No. 2<\/a> wedding wasn’t designed to evoke any imagery of firefighters from the past, the couple utilized the space masterfully with vibrant colors and a bit of humor. Aaron and Whitney Photography<\/a> brilliantly captured the light and dark aspects of the venue, showcasing an extraordinary depth in Meredith and Jonathan’s relationship and their big day.<\/p>\n

The Inspiration:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I wanted it to be elegant and timeless without trying too hard. I didn’t have much of a theme in mind. I just picked things I liked and hoped they all went together in the end. I love wild flowers, lots of color, vintage, and a twist of humor (we had horses and owls everywhere because of a silly Buzzfeed quiz about what your spirit animal is… Mine was horse and his was owl).<\/em><\/p>\n

The Moments:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

There were too many. During photographs of me and Jonathan<\/span> in the neighborhood near our venue, a house party of strangers played and sang to us “all you need is love”. My sister gave a toast that left not a single dry eye in the place. My mother, sister, and I danced to my mother’s fav song by Trapeze, and we laughed and spilled our drinks all over the dance floor. I danced with my dad to his fav pink Floyd song and he, teary eyed and sentimental, looked at me and said “this is a really long song”. All time favorite: saying “I will love you forever” to the man of my dreams in front of all the people I love the most.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Couple Recommends:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Aaron and Whitney Durall are the best photographers period. They captured the essence of our perfect day and of who we are. They’re also just amazing people. After our engagement shoot they rescued an abandoned kitten and drove it home with them 1.5 hours away.<\/em><\/p>\n
