The burlap aisle runner, handmade wooden elements, soft muted-color flowers, whiskey barrels, and tons of candles made Kate and Peter’s earthy wedding at Kings County Distillery<\/a> the perfect mix of urban and nature. The bride looked stunning in her wreath headpiece and elegant lacy gown. The Inspiration:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

We wanted a relaxed, fun day so we opted for a more rustic theme as our venue was the 115 year old Paymasters building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard – which now operates as a whiskey distillery. We chose the best type of food for cooking for a large number of people – BBQ! All decorations were kept simple – burlap aisle runner, wood elements throughout the indoor & outdoor spaces including a handmade white birch huppah courtesy of the bride’s father, romantic muted-color flowers, off white linens, bistro bulbs, tons of candles, and of course lots of whiskey barrels. The dress was a simple lace sheath that the bride could easily dance in.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Moments:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

It’s so hard to choose since the whole day was so much fun! One of my favorite moments was my dad walking me down the aisle as he was on a trip to Quebec Caribou hunting and almost got snowed in & missed the wedding! Another favorite was our first dance together to – Strangers by the Kinks. It was the first video we saw of our day while on our honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico and made us so happy to see our first dance as husband & wife. Another absolute favorite was Peter<\/span>‘s 5 year old son Adrian’s dance moves – he totally stole the show.<\/em><\/p>\n
