The essence of New Orleans can be found deep within the old brick structures as much as in the people who are from there. Anna envisioned a quintessentially New Orleans wedding, complete with music in the streets and views of some of the city’s most beloved locations. Choosing a glamorous vintage style, the wedding in New Orleans beautifully captured the charm that has existed in the city for lifetimes. Dorka Photography<\/a> was an obvious choice for Anna and Spencer, and both her photography and her presence will be cherished by the couple forever.<\/p>\n

The Inspiration:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

It’s hard to have a wedding in New Orleans with out channeling the city’s charm, timeless rustic appeal, creole\/voodoo roots, vintage buildings, weathered decor and<\/span> it’s laid back atmosphere with the snap crackle and <\/span>pop of jazz and<\/span> jam. It was a mix of the Great Gatsby with a Vintage Glam twist. As the bride, being from New Orleans, a traditional Catholic wedding was the only way to make it feel right, followed by the way the Crescent City really throws down, hootin’, hollerin’, dancin’, and<\/span> celebratin’.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Moments:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

How relaxed I finally was and<\/span> how much fun we both had. I feel like every thing was in slow motion and<\/span> high-speed all at the same time. Each detail unfolded perfectly from the gospel singers at the wedding, to the band (Mingo Fishtrap) at the reception and<\/span> the flash mob planned by my Maid of Honor to Thriller (she also hired a surprise Michael Jackson impersonator to finish the dance with us), Having my dad walk me down the isle, riding to the church with him, my last moments as a single woman with my dad, seeing my groom for the first time on the roof of the Monteleon Hotel, seeing how absolutely stunning each and<\/span> every bridesmaid looked and<\/span> how handsome the groomsmen (and<\/span> groom) were, having the Deacon that I grew up with marry us (brought me back to my childhood), remembering my mother, and<\/span> feeling her with me that day, Saying “I DO,” dancing my fanny off , OH the Photobooth – my sister in law made this fabulous backdrop and<\/span> everyone had so much fun.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Couple Recommends:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Dorka Photography, BY FAR, made our wedding and <\/span>rehearsal dinner weekend AMAZING — she was part of us with out even knowing she was there. She captured the weekend effortlessly and<\/span> our emotion and<\/span> joy is so artfully documented in forever form. THANK YOU.<\/em><\/p>\n
