There’s something about a charming garden wedding that always puts a smile on our faces!  It’s easy to see why Chantal and Simon chose Strathmere<\/a> to hold their gray and yellow wedding, with its lovely meadows filled with sunflowers and pastel accents. Ottawa photographer Blair Gable<\/a> did a beautiful job capturing the couple’s sweet first look in the garden, which might be one of our all-time favorite moments. As if that weren’t enough, Chantal’s demure, vintage bridal style is one for the books.<\/p>\n

The Inspiration:<\/span> “It was really important to both of us that we not get lost in the details and plan a day that we could, and would, enjoy as much as our guests. To that end we kept things simple with a yellow and grey palette and a slight vintage vibe.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

The Moments:<\/span> “When talking this question over we could not narrow it down to one moment, so here are our top three! The first standout moment for us was definitely the first look photo shoot. It was a fun way to capture seeing each other for the first time in our wedding garb, while easing a little bit of the pressure\/nerves before the ceremony itself. The second favorite moment was coming back up the aisle to the sweet, sweet sound of Hall and Oates, and knowing that the “official” part of the day was over and the party could begin. Finally we just had to give a shout out to the final song of the night: The Time of My Life. It was a great way to wrap things up and we were delighted by the number of folk who trooped with us until 1 AM.<\/span><\/span><\/em>“<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Couple Recommends:<\/span> “Blair was a dream to work with and really gave us a set of photos that captured the key moments and mood of the day. We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience with him, an A+ professional from start to finish. <\/em><\/p>\n

Strathmere was a delight. The staff were exceptional and the venue was gorgeous. They handled an enormous amount of the logistics and served a great spread!<\/em>”<\/p>\n
