Kim and Travis landed on the perfect balance between quirky and classic for their British Columbia mountain wedding. The pair shared an intimate ceremony, surrounded by their closest loved ones and the towering trees of Hillside Chalets. The motif of nature and trees continued inside for the reception, as the couple created beautiful hanging décor using branches and Mason jars. The Inspiration:<\/span> “We spent a LOT of time looking at wedding blogs online and were inspired by those with a rustic, eclectic, but still classic, feel. I love colour so lots of colours, including teal, blue and orange were incorporated. We wanted the entire wedding weekend to be very friend and family oriented – intimate and very personalized. We invited 35 people (plus the kids) and we wanted everyone to feel special and appreciated. Through organizing a wedding, we’ve realized how darn lucky we are to have awesome people in our lives. <\/em><\/p>\n

We ended up choosing Hillside Chalets in Golden, BC because it had a grounds for the ceremony and a beautiful barn for the reception, along with accommodations for most of our guests. Also, the venue allowed us to decorate to our hearts content. It was a bare space, so we were able to build all of the tables, lights, and other decorations ourselves.<\/em>”<\/p>\n
