Jenn and Ryan’s rustic wedding was held at The Old Edwards Inn & Spa<\/a> in Highlands, North Carolina, where Elizabeth Fletcher of I Do Events<\/a> created a wonderfully cozy affair perfect for fall. Jonathan Connolly<\/a>‘s photos captured the day beautifully.<\/p>\n

The Goals: <\/b>Our decor theme could be called rustic chic. The venue was designed to look like a barn so we didn’t want it to look too fancy. We are very simplistic people and didn’t want an over the top wedding so we stuck with very simple decor.<\/i><\/p>\n

$\"rustic$ <\/p>\n

The Design: <\/b>Instead of having just tables, we wanted some long rectangular tables to give the feeling of a family gathering. We had low flowers that were primarily white with pops of purple and green. We wanted a buffet so that everyone could enjoy the food more than just once and we had a candy bar as favors. We added lights to make it feel like we were outside under the stars.<\/i><\/p>\n

The Location: <\/b>We chose to get married in Highlands, North Carolina. This is a place the bride has been visiting her entire life. We wanted to get away from the craziness of Miami and have a very small wedding that reflected our simplistic personalities.<\/i><\/p>\n

The Moments: <\/b>The most memorable part of the day was seeing Ryan for the first time during the first look. It was so nice to have such a personal moment together before sharing such a great memory with all of our friends and family. I also enjoyed getting ready with all my friends that I have known since elementary school.

The Advice: <\/b>I think the biggest piece of advice we give couples planning a wedding is to not stress so much about the small details. The day goes by so quickly, and you won’t remember the tiny details that might seem so important.<\/i><\/p>\n
