Today’s Real Wedding<\/a> is all about simple elegance. Shira and Adam were married last May at her family’s beautiful Santa Barbara home and their goal was to create a warm, family-oriented, intimate day. Wedding and event planner Colette Lopez of La Fete Weddings<\/a> worked with Shira and Adam to incorporate a wedding color palette of white, cream, pearl, ivory and champagne in with the beautifully landscaped family property. The colors perfectly complimented the home’s Mediterranean architecture and coloring and its lush green lawns and pretty rose gardens. Tables were topped with creamy linens in both solids and stripes, white and ivory floral arrangements in antique mercury glass vases from Cody Floral Design<\/a>, sparkling votive candles, and pretty mother-of-pearl napkin rings. Wedding photographer Melissa Musgrove<\/a> captured each detail beautifully!<\/p>\n

The wedding was filled with a mixture of traditional and modern Jewish ceremonies and like all other aspects of the day, incorporated their dear family members. The Chupah that Shira and Adam stood beneath was Shira’s grandfather’s talis, or prayershawl, and their parents and siblings all stood beneath it with them in order to share the moment as a family. Shira wore a gorgeous Ulla Maija<\/a> wedding gown along with family heirloom jewelry and accessories and a diamond bracelet that Adam had given to her during one of their first vacations together.<\/p>\n

The reception began with cocktails and then the traditional and lively Hora. Immediately following that Shira and Adam invited all their guests to remain on the dance floor to surround them and blow bubbles as they danced their first dance to This Years Love by David Gray<\/a>. “It made the wedding kick off to a great start and brought everyone together in a warm and intimate way”.<\/span> Their wedding cake was Shira’s favorite and another family tradition, a Douberge cake flown in from New Orleans. Throughout everything, Shira felt her best decision was choosing to get married at home. “It was magnificent to look up from the ceremony, cocktails, and party to always find myself where I am the most comfortable- at home”.<\/span><\/p>\n
