This Wedding Spiced Up Plenty Mercantile with Vintage Vibes and Citrus Hues

November 12, 2019 | brooke

Taelor and Aaron celebrated their love in style by spicing up Plenty Mercantile with vintage vibes and citrus hues! As a lover of crafting and DIY projects, Taelor took on the task of creating decor for their day — and she totally nailed it. We’re loving the bouquets, Facebook Marketplace finds, and simple greenery her reception tables were decked in. Plus, she looked stunning in a fitted and elegant Vera Wang via David’s Bridal dress and glam jewelry! From fun-loving wedding party photos to sweet, romantic moments on the rooftop, we can’t wait for you to see how Payton Marie Photography beautifully documented this inspiring day at Plenty Mercantile in OKC!

Wedding planning advice from the bride: Make sure your minions (bridal party) are ride or die, hydrate, have lots of cold brew on hand (nitro preferred), and be ready to rally after every night out (because it’s a weeklong party, not just one night).

I put together my look after picking out my dress. Like most, I picked out a dress that was far from what I had initially envisioned. From there, I browsed online to pick a simple hairstyle and fun glam accessories. I loved everything about my dress and accessories. The dress was simple yet glamorous, fit like a glove, and was so comfortable.

We did the decor, flowers, music (Spotify playlists), hair, makeup, and accessories. I (Taelor) love any chance to style and create. After receiving a few quotes, I realized very quickly that I could do a lot myself, for a lot cheaper, and make it more genuine to our style. I used facebook marketplace for second hand votives, a friend of mine had leftover runners, I used a lot of amazon prime, and I went to hobby lobby when florals were 50% off. It took a couple hours to pick out my flowers and they all turned out amazing! I used a pretty industrial wire cutter and little hot glue gun to bring the bouquets together with the ribbons.

Payton was amazing! She made it so fun and actually very relaxed. It was very fun to work with her and I couldn’t imagine anyone doing a better job. I’m going to miss her now that the big day is over. There are so many photos that I love, but my favorite is probably the one of us on the roof top giving each other serious “I love you” eyes.

We have been to a few weddings so far, and the best ones we went to were simple. They had simple decor, great food, and threw a great party. We were doing almost everything ourselves and between us both being full time active duty Air Force Officers, and our various other endeavors; simple was the most appropriate vibe for the free time we had to plan. We knew the venue just needed some tacos, margs, greenery, and romantic candles to set the “A&Tae” mood/vibe.

We gave personalized drink coasters. Aaron and I love taking the cute personalized drink coasters from bars we visit, so we decided to make some for our guests!
