With its serene wooded area and lily pond, Merry Hill Farm in North Carolina was the perfect oasis for Brittany and Zachary’s bohemian, rustic wedding. We love how the light-florals and vintage tableware added an elegant touch to this farm wedding. From the couple: We pulled inspiration from a variety of sources (Pinterest, wedding blogs, etc.), but most importantly who we are as people and a couple. When booking with our wedding photographer I told her that I wanted the day to be “intimate, personal, and fun”. These three words were really the biggest inspiration behind all of our decisions for the wedding day. Family plays a big role in both of our lives and we decided that an intimate gathering with just our family was better suited for the wedding we wanted. Going to thrift and antique stores is a favorite pastime of ours so we incorporated a lot of pieces as decor for the wedding. My husband enjoys woodworking and made the altar that we were married under. We decided instead of dancing we wanted to have a bonfire where everyone could make s’mores and have some drinks. For wedding day fashion we wanted to make sure to wear something that we felt good in and stayed true to our style.
From the couple: Michelle Lyerly, our wedding photographer, was such an integral part to our day and she went above and beyond our expectations. From day one she made Zach and I feel completely confident that we had found THE photographer for our day. Not only is Michelle extremely talented at what she does, but is an all around amazing person.
