Stacie and Mark’s outdoor wedding at Gatzke Orchard had the perfect amount to whimsy to its care-free vibes. The two didn’t want anything too traditional and decided that an intimate destination was the way to go! Wanting their day to feel like a backyard summer party, they kept the celebration outside. Their decor was full of vibrant wildflowers thanks to Blue Sage Farm and framed photos from their engagement session – how sweet! And speaking of sweet, Stacie and Mark ditched the wedding cake and decided on pies thanks to the fresh fruit from the farm! Sharon Litchfield Photography joined them for their special day and photographed their fun, Summer wedding!

I found Jordi, my makeup artist, on Instagram. Seriously, fell in love with her our first meeting. She is incredibly talented an has the best sense of humour, I knew it was a definite match as soon as we met!

Sharon is literally one of the best humans I know. We had zero hesitation in choosing her to capture our day. It was actually the first thing we decided on! I must say I wasn’t the most organized bride. I didn’t have a check list of things that needed to be done in a certain order or photos to be taken here and there, I kind of just let her decide what would be best based on location and to make sure no one got missed. She made it so stress free and we love absolutely every one of our photos

I feel like a lot of people get wrapped up in what everyone else is doing…I think if you pick and choose things that represent your style and you as a couple you won’t look back on the day and wish you would have done something different.

Honestly, I think having a destination wedding can be difficult sometimes because you need to be prepared that not everyone will be able to make it. That said, walking down the aisle and seeing how many family and friends made the trip out for us, was really really heart warming.

We really wanted to be able to have our entire wedding outside. Once we saw the “bowery” at Gatzke Orchard we were sold. The grape vines and string lights were our favourite part of the decor.

We really wanted a relaxed, non traditional wedding. We wanted our guests to be able to show up in casual dress and feel like they were at a summer backyard party.
