Talented wedding invitation designer, Junebug member, and very lovely person, Heidi Jimenez of Zenadia Design recently told me about this wedding inspiration photo shoot she put together, and once I saw the photos I knew I had to share them with all of you! Pulling inspiration from an interior design photo she saw in Architectural Digest magazine (above), Heidi did what many of you out there are doing as you plan your own weddings. Finding a look, a photo, an atmosphere or a meaningful memory that you love and using it to inspire the design and mood of your wedding day. I’m a firm believer that inspiration can come from anywhere, and Heidi gives us one creative and drop-dead gorgeous example of how that can be done. Here’s how she approached this wonderful wedding project…

Some time last year I was reading through my Architectural Digest and came across a room, and I thought, ‘Wow, this would make an absolutely stunning wedding.’ Taking inspiration from the patterns in the tapestries of the pillows, I envisioned an event with whites, creams and pops of color from the tapestry patterns. I loved the idea of bringing tapestry fabric into the paper products and overall decor. When I met with Zohe Felici from Felici Events about my idea she was totally on board, and even saw the image in a new light that I hadn’t noticed. She said the tables and walls in the room looked a little bit Greek, which I totally agreed! Zohe scouted a couple locations and we ended up at the magnificent Moody Estate in Santa Barbara, which was an absolutely perfect location for our vision! Zohe brought on board the amazing Michael Mantalos from Louloudi Design to do the florals and help with the overall decor. Capturing the shoot perfectly was the talented and super sweet Allyson Magda.

Our models were actually an engaged couple, Scott Topper and Angelina Rodriguez who are also, coincidentally, wedding professionals as well. This was a fun little pre-wedding shoot for them. The hair and make-up was done by Tomiko Taft, who is so amazing at what she does.

We had such an amazing group of vendors pull this shoot together. Everyone added their own signature style to the shoot which I loved. It just goes to show that you can find inspiration anywhere you look! Sometimes I even get ideas for color palettes just looking at nature; the sky, a humming bird or the different hues of blue in the ocean. Inspiration is all around us!
