The Couple: Corey and Ross
The Wedding: 10.6.12 – Magnolia Plantation, Charleston, South Carolina
The Photographer: Richard Israel
Junebug: What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Corey and Ross: Classic, ethereal, romantic
Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Corey and Ross: Ross loves all things classic, and I love flowers everywhere. Carrie of A Charleston Bride helped us meet in the middle with a perfect balance. We incorporated our style by using some of our household belongings: we used our typewriter as our guest book, and we decorated our tables with many of our own vases and candelabras.
Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Corey and Ross: Making the decision to get married at such a natural venue was the best choice for us. We spend as much time as we can outdoors, so it felt really comfortable to spend the most important day of our lives in nature, too.
Also, it was so special to have our daughter as our flower girl, and she made each moment even more perfect than we could have imagined. She greeted us and held our hands to walk down the aisle, and she met and hugged us during our first dance. We planned none of this, but she knew just where to be throughout the whole day.
Junebug: What specifically drew you to Richard Israel and his imagery?
Corey and Ross: What first drew us to Richard was his classic yet dream-like style. Even his journalistic photos have so much emotion and art in them. We are eternally grateful to have had the chance to work with Richard. In addition to being a wonderful photographer, Richard became a friend to us and touched everyone with whom he came in contact. Richard was an integral part of our day and would be the first person I would recommend to capture any future event.
