Before we head into spring, I wanted to share Jessica and Wade’s photos as a reminder of all the glamour and peaceful calm that accompanies bright winter weddings. The couple’s elegant palette of white and gold was brilliantly accented by freshly fallen snow dusted over every inch of the Shore Lodge in Idaho. Despite the cold, Sara K. Byrne Photography captured photos that are absolutely glowing with warmth and love.
Junebug: What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Jessica and Wade: Glamourous, elegant and rustic
Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Jessica and Wade: As a wedding planner and someone who works in public relations, I relished the idea of planning my own wedding. I wanted something unique and that expressed who we were as a couple, while still keeping some traditional elements. Everything from the time of year, to my dress, to the location (where we got engaged), to the fact that we served s’mores instead of a cake reflected what we loved as a couple, and as individuals.
Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Jessica and Wade: I loved the spontaneity of the night itself – everyone says you stop worrying about the details on the actual day, and its true! After the ceremony we just let loose and partied – hard. We were so happy to be surrounded by everyone that had made the journey to share our day that we just had a blast. We danced so hard I even ended up changing into my rehearsal dinner dress because mine was so heavy, which I hadn’t planned to do! We just had a blast.
Junebug: What specifically drew you to Sara K. Byrne Photography and her imagery?
Jessica and Wade: One of the most important elements of our wedding was the photos, because in 30, 40, 50 years, you dont remember the flowers or the favors — you have the photos. We wanted photos that were unique and beautiful, and didn’t look like everyone else’s wedding photos we had seen. I had followed Sara and Dylans work for a while, and I couldn’t think of anyone whose work I admired more. There was no question in my mind they fit the bill, and meeting them only cemented that decision!
