Talk about gorgeous! Kaylin and Patrick beautifully paired modern, clean design with unique touches, lush flowers, and sophisticated fashion for their Seattle wedding! Pat’s love for all things modern and Kaylin’s glamorous, sophisticated aesthetic seamlessly came together in an event with mad style! James Moes beautifully captured the wedding day with his signature atmospheric images.
The Goals: Our main goal was to make the wedding as easy as possible for all of our guests. We decided to host the reception at Hotel 1000, which was the hotel our guests were staying. We made sure we shuttled all of our guests to the church, so they didnt have to worry about transportation. Most importantly, we wanted all of our guests to have a great time!
The Vision: The theme was 1960s glam meets modern day. It was a true combination of my husbands and my style because he loves modern design and I love old Hollywood glamour. Our color palette was metallics silver, gold, bronze – with lots of white. Pat designed our invitations which featured elegant typography. Our flowers were lush, but being just white, were also modern and clean. The hydrangea, babies breath, and garden roses complement both our church, which felt very European, and the posh downtown hotel. The decor also included some fun tinsel chandeliers, soft white seating, a lighted bar, and a cut-paper installation by local artist Celeste Cooning. A few other fun touches were our ice luge for our signature “Something Blue” cocktail, and salsa dancers that performed at the reception.
The Look: My goal was to look timeless and elegant, and reminiscent of Grace Kelly and my favorite 1950-60 bombshells. I loved everything about my dress – the skirt and the small detailed belt of pearls and stones wrapped in tulle, the bodice with a sweetheart neckline and the design of the amazing folded silk. I borrowed my oldest sisters cathedral veil from her wedding 7 years ago, which was perfect since my dress didn’t have a large train. I also wore a diamond cross necklace my parents gave me a few days before the wedding.
The vision for my bridal party was modern day bombshell, and they looked stunning in different but coordinating dresses! The men channeled the Rat Pack, and were dapper in their classic black tuxes.
The Moments: Our favorite part of the day for both of us was an unplanned moment during the ceremony! We were lighting the unity candle and whispered to each other, We didnt practice our first kiss, what should we do? We also loved stopping at iconic Kerry Park for photos on the way to the hotel from the church, since we didnt do a first look. I had so much fun on the dance floor with all of my friends and family, and Pat loved hanging in the gentlemans lounge, drinking whiskey and catching up with friends.
