  1. We have planned so many special pieces to our wedding. We are having a gelato bar which has to be my favorite special piece!

  2. my grandmother was a pie maker extraordinnaire! So we’re not having wedding cake, we’re having wedding pies.

  3. We plan on making koozies for our wedding favors. I’m still searching for inspiration and brainstorming our reception, but there will be several DIY projects. I’ve already requested all of my bridesmaids presence, but I am going to embroider a vintage handkerchief for each of them to thank them for their support.

  4. To me, little touches are what make the ceremony and reception so special. We plan to have touches throughout the reception decor that fit our personalities!

  5. I am getting married with my toes in the sand!! And we’re making special welcome packages with beach-themed goodies for the guests from out of town!

  6. I’m a big fan of polka dots, so the little details of the wedding, like ties, and napkins, and even sweaters for my bridesmaids are all polka dots!

  7. We’re doing lots of DIY- including homemade jelly as favors, hand crafted cupcake stands, yard games and decorations. I’ll also be making my dress (with LOTS of help from my best friend)!

  8. We are going to run the chairlift at the mountain we are getting married at and have a cocktail hour at the top of the mountain!!

  9. We’re planning a destination wedding, so a lot will be custom! Welcome bags, lots of the decor, and most importantly we’re customizing our ceremony!

  10. The detail I’m most excited to create are the scratch-off escort cards. I’m using a “recipe” from Martha Stewart (and I’ll be testing it a few times to make sure it works and that it works okay after a few weeks, too) and guests will take a penny from a bowl and scratch off a card to see their table number. I cannot wait!

  11. I have a display box with the rose my fiance gave me in high school. Also, we have a number of antiques we are incorporating in the reception.

  12. For my wedding, instead of a guestbook I cut up a bunch of 4×6 scrapbook papers, decorate them so that the guests could fill them up (the papers have the prompt “messages for the newlyweds”. This way they don’t have to line up to fill up the guestbook and they could take their time filling it out. Afterwards I could put these messages in an album for safe keeping.

  13. we are having an extended weekend wedding celebration. there will be a photobooth with animal masks, archery, and yoga every morning in the sky yurt. we’re both librarians, so we will have table assignments on library cards in a vintage card catalog.

  14. My fiance and I are planning to do lots of DIY for our wedding! The invitations, decor and favours are just the start!

  15. There will be music-themed paper cone favours with [hopefully!] personalised M&M’s.

  16. I am planning on DIY’ing all of the paper products

  17. My soon to be mother in law and I are cooking enough deserts to cover a twin-size mattress. I’m most excited about her apple pie and her baklava!

  18. As my groom is from England, I am making party ‘crackers’ stuffed with a toy, a paper crown, and a lottery ticket packaged with a 2pence piece! The crackers will serve as place cards at the table! I am excited to see everyone put on a fun crown and play with the silly prizes inside (or win the lotto?!).

  19. We are having a monogrammed aisle runner and diy all the paper elements

  20. I love when people do DIY items for their wedding or any party, so I’d want to do DIY favors.

  21. I plan to do a lot of DIY favors and decorations for our wedding. I also am going to have a photobook telling the story of how my fiancé and I met and our relationship over the years. Th book will be on display at the reception for our guests to look through.

  22. we are doing a vintage lace theme on all the dresses – and its also a military wedding! katherinedibello (at) gmail (dot) com

  23. We are having a vintage, romantic theme. Pink and ivory roses, baby breaths and lots of candles. We will use succulants as favors, keeping it natural and earthy! :)

  24. Amazing vintage handkerchiefs , perfect for our louisville, ky horse farm wedding where we will have a bourbon tasting bar , Kentucky hot browns and horseshoe escort cards!
