Wishing to create a wedding that incorporated their different heritages, Fina and Max decided on an English wedding with Swedish influences. The grand, historic architecture of Scampston Hall, vintage cars, and tons of greenery created a romantic atmosphere for this couple to tie the knot. Natural light spread throughout the outdoor reception, allowing guests to marvel at the beautiful surroundings. Neil Jackson Photographic perfectly captured this exquisite wedding in England.

The Couple:

Fina and Max

The Wedding:

Scampston Hall, Malton, England

The Inspiration:

It was important to us to get married in a location that meant something to us. Since we come from different countries, me being Swedish and Max being brought up in North Yorkshire, it was a little difficult to decide on the location at first. I always had a wish to get married outside, in a beautiful garden, but this isn’t very easy in England. Max‘s wish was for a homemade, relaxed countryside wedding. We decided that a quaint rustic English wedding with Swedish influences would be ideal. The colour theme of mint and brown came from Max‘s favourite ice cream, mint chocolate chip and my love for mint green shades.

The Moments:

My favourite part of the day was when I walked down the aisle with Max and his eyes said it all. They were full of love and a calm came over me. I was overwhelmed with emotions and Max‘s vows made me cry. I loved every minute of our day, it was unforgettable and almost surreal. All the planning had come together into such a spectacular party with all our friends and family and we felt so blessed to be able to celebrate our marriage this way. I didn’t want the day to end. If I were to do it all again, I wouldn’t do a single thing differently!

The Couple Recommends:

For us, I think the rings were the most important part of our whole wedding and the one thing that was given the most thought and attention. We felt that the rings are what you mark the vows and the promises you make to each other with, and is the most cherished item you keep after the wedding. We wanted them to be really personal and thoughtful, so we had them custom made. All three rings were made by the lovely Jo Lavelle. We had endless discussions about shape, cuts, type of metal, size and thickness and the meaning behind the rings. Both me and Max loved the idea of using old family jewellery and had the idea of symbolising the union of two families by combining our parents old wedding rings. Jo captured our philosophy and thoughts perfectly, and is a lovely artist to work with.

Our photographer was Neil Jackson from Neil Jackson Photographic. Neil was great and everything we could have wished for. The style and lighting of his photos were just what we were after and he captured every little detail of our day perfectly. He was everywhere without being seen and was extremely professional. We were so lucky to have found him.
