Three ideas for a cold winter night
Yours by John PhotographyWomen all have needs, and they always seem to be changing. Sometimes they need candlelight and romance, sometimes they need beer and bowling. That’s why this time around Junebug is offering up three levels of date night ideas. From one end of the spectrum to the other, we hope at least one, if not all of them, satisfies.
Level 1- Perfect for a rainy winter night. Head over to the cozy Pacific Inn Pub (3501 Stone Way North, 206-547-2967) for ten beers on tap and the best fish and chips in town. Follow that with a movie rental from nearby behemoth Scarecrow Video (5030 Roosevelt Way NE, 206-524-8554). Any movie you’ve ever thought of seeing, they’ve got it. Cuddle up at home with your movie, your sweetie and your full belly.

Level 2- Also perfect for a rainy winter night. Hip Belltown hot spot Black Bottle (2600 1st Avenue, 206-441-1500) is said to have the hardest working wine list in town. Forty wines priced at under $30. Pair that with their menu of fresh and creative sharing plates and you’ve got a fun and romantic dinner for two, not to mention some great people watching and a new favorite hangout!

Level 3- The most perfect for a rainy winter night. Indulge in the finest of dining at renowned Seattle restaurant Chez Shea (94 Pike Street Suite 34, 206-467-9990). In their intimate location tucked away in the Pike Place Market you can watch the sun set over the Sound while your taste buds are being pampered by their fixed price 4 or 8 course menu.  When you can’t eat another perfect bite, walk yourself down 1st Avenue to the chic boutique hotel, The Alexis (1007 1st Avenue, 1-866-356-8894) and sleep over in one of their luxurious rooms. Go all the way by treating yourselves to in room spa treatments the next morning. Now that’s a date to remember!

One creative way for grooms to get involved in their wedding planning is through the invitation design.  Your wedding invitations should reflect your individual style whether that’s formal or contemporary, whimsical or traditional. A great invitation designer will be able to work with you to create the perfect expression of your wedding celebration, but they’ll need your input.
Here is an expert run down on the basic wording structure an invitation usually follows and your options for getting creative, from local designers Brown Sugar Design.

Elizabeth and Josh had been planning to go geocaching for quite some time, geocaching involves using a handheld GPS unit to locate a treasure, or cache, hidden by participants who then post the latitude and longitude coordinates online for other participants to find. Elizabeth was eager to have an opportunity to finally get to do it.

The couple piled in to Josh’s Jeep with two friends and headed off in search of hidden treasure. Little did Elizabeth know that the stack of printed directions included an impostor. To ensure that their final destination was for Elizabeth eyes only, Josh had worked with the geocaching website’s owners to fake an official cache location.

Should my bride and I see each other before the ceremony?
It’s totally up to the two of you.  Depending on how your day is scheduled, seeing each other before can be a big plus—you get all your family photos taken, you get time together to talk, plus lots of couples say it helps them feel more relaxed and present during the ceremony. If you decide to go this route, have your photographer help you choose a place for your first look and make it special. If you’d really rather wait until she comes down the aisle, just be sure the schedule works for you. If you’re getting married at sunset, and your reception is scheduled immediately after, you might miss out on natural light photos and part of your cocktail party.

Before my buddies get too crazy, what are some good bachelor party ideas?
John and Joseph PhotographyThink outside the box.  Spend the weekend fishing with your best friends, grab dinner and a hockey game, take a jaunt to your favorite casino for video poker or spend all-night seeing who dominates at Halo. It doesn’t really matter where you are or what you do, the point is to be with your buddies and really celebrate.

Word to the wise: As you know, bachelor parties have a reputation for being way too much fun, so consider hiring a limo and driver to chauffeur you all about, or designate one driver for each of your cars well in advance.

Thinking of traveling to Italy for your honeymoon? Then don’t miss the magic and mysterious city of Venice. The sounds of string quartets in the Piazza San Marco, the opulent lighted spires of Basilica di San Marco, and the moon reflecting off the ancient waterways will stay with you long after you’ve returned home. With so many amazing sights to see in Venice, your biggest challenge will be deciding what to do once you arrive. Here are our top five suggestions for a truly memorable stay:

1)      Yes, do ride the gondola to see the intricate canals of Venice, a romantic must. Make it special, bring flowers and snuggle up, watch the world go by in a way you’ve never seen it before.

2)       But don’t forget to explore by foot…and wander through the maze of intricate and artistic bridges and alleyways that crisscross the city. They are full of fascinating shops, restaurants, and relics that will astound you.

La Vie Photography3)      Create your own memory…by discovering the many beautiful and surprisingly affordable handmade mask shops that are unique to this city. Choose two that are a perfect reflection of each of you and have them shipped back home to remember your trip.

4)     Expand your horizons…on the lagoon islands of Murano and Burano, just a 40-minute boat ride from Venice. Murano has been the cultural center of Venetian glass blowing for over 1300 years. It is where Venice’s art thrives and is unsurpassed. Burano, famous for it’s lace industry, is a remarkably picturesque islet you won’t want to miss.

5)      Soak up some rays…in the summer months and grab a 30-minute ferry to the island of Lido where you’ll find classically European beaches on the sunny Adriatic. Get Blair deLaubenfelsyour concierge to book you a hut at one of the “public private beaches” away from the very public beach on the southern most side of the island. Expect lots and lots of people, balmy water, white sand and an abundance of bikinis both on and off their owners.
