In May, the incomparable wedding photographer Elizabeth Messina hosted a workshop in France, and the photographers from around the world who attended experienced a week of creativity and astounding beauty that they will surely never forget. Our own Junebug co-founder Kim and her husband Adam worked along side Elizabeth to make this event come to life (the chateau where the workshop was held was the location of Kim and Adam's wedding a few years back, which Blair and I were so very lucky to attend!) and so today we are able to show you a glimpse of the photographic magic that took place during that special week. On Photobug we have the images taken by Elizabeth herself (go take a look!), and here we have the beautiful wedding inspiration that was captured by the A Lovely Workshop attendees. Enjoy!

Bachelorette Weekend Vintage Fashion and Beauty Inspiration

This unbelievably cute vintage fashion photo shoot from photographer Heather Kincaid celebrates the fun of a bachelorette weekend away, and is full of beauty, fashion and styling ideas that would be perfect for any bride and her bridesmaids, for an engagement party, rehearsal dinner or for a wedding day. The team at Fiore Beauty, one of our super talented Southern California Junebug members, was kind enough to give us the inside scoop on how to get the to-die-for hair and makeup looks used on these four lovely ladies, who are actually real-life best friends living in L.A.! Adorable! Photographed at The London Hotel in Los Angeles, with vintage clothing from Shareen Vintage, tote bags by Darlington Ave, and styling by The Life Styled, this shoot is one pretty piece of eye-candy. Styled in a retro-inspired red polka-dot dress, Elena's hair was set in pin-curls to achieve the glamorous S-shaped curls and waves. Her makeup was classic with the emphasis on a true red lip. With the focus on her lips, Elena's eyes were kept neutral and simple with a black liquid liner, and no shadow or liner underneath the eye, but with plenty of individual false lashes. Elena's classic red lips were matched with a classic red polish on her nails, from OPI, called "O'Hare and Nails Look Great".

For Mimi's hair, the team at Fiore Beauty did a polished, flirty ponytail - the perfect dressed up version of an everyday favorite. To do this, they gave Mimi some good height in the front and some piecey curls throughout, and finished by making sure it was smooth and free of all fly-aways. Mimi's big, beautiful blue eyes were emphasized with a very defined, pearly, warm gray crease and a light lid. Her eyes were lined with a very, very fine liquid liner to accentuate her lash line while still keeping the look very clean.

Cat's look was the softest of the four, but topped off with a bright, poppy, pigmented lip. For such an intense color, Jaimi at Fiore Beauty says the lip color should be one with a suede finish. On Cat is one of Jaimi's favorites, Schiap by NARS. Cat's hair was pulled back into a loose, organic bun, without too much structure, letting the lip color take center stage.

Suzy's look centered around a sexy, smoky eye. The key, says Jaimi, is for the shadow to be darkest at the lash-line, blending lighter as you get closer to the lid. Her eye is lined around in black, more heavily on top, and blended out a bit on the outside corners. A neutral shimmer was added to her mid-lid, and a bright highlighter under the brow. The team gave Suzy a bright pink lip using Pink Poodle by MAC, keeping it sheer to coincide with such a dramatic eye.

Glamorous Wedding Dresses from Johanna Johnson

When we recently came upon Australian dress designer Johanna Johnson's latest wedding collection, out hearts gave quite a flutter. These entirely hand-crafted dresses and accessories sparkle with Swarovski crystals and Parisian beading, recreating the luxurious glamour of Hollywood's golden era. Johanna's designs marry elegance, romance and sophistication with clean and current lines, for a look that is a timeless throw-back to dazzling leading ladies like Audrey Hepburn, Rita Hayworth and Veronica Lake.

In lieu of traditional jewelry, you can add some shine to your wedding dress with one of Johanna's jeweled tulle cuffs, or for a uniquely dramatic look try one of her lace head scarves or glittering headpieces. Whichever you choose, these stunning designs are sure to get you noticed.

Wedding Bouquets by Kathy Wright & Company

The wedding bouquets in our recent Monique Lhuillier Fashion Report at the Del Mar Racetrack were created by the endlessly talented Kathy Wright and Company, and we loved them all so much that we just had to give them their own blog post! Read on to learn about what went into each beautiful creation...

This luxurious white wedding bouquet was made of white japhet orchids and stephanotis, and had a thick white satin ribbon around its base. The edges of the orchids had the most delicate and detailed looking texture, and we adored the pop of yellow in their centers too. Amazing!

This rich, antique looking bouquet was made from caramel cymbidium orchids and hand painted hydrangea! (Yes! Hand painted! It was so creative!) It worked amazingly well with the creamy lace and textured layers of fabric in the Monique Lhuillier wedding gowns, and would be absolutely stunning with a color palette of oranges, creams, browns and metallics in a wedding of any season.

And speaking of creative, this bouquet was made entirely of birds of paradise. It was a modern, tropical work of art! Its orange, yellow, green and purple colors were so vibrant, and its shape was so spectacular, it was a true show stopper. We were thrilled to get to work with it, to say the least! Thank you Kathy for your artistry and generosity! We are fans for life!
