I think it is so funny that you posted about wearing red shoes on your wedding day because I attended a wedding this past weekend where my girlfriend wore amazing red heels under her wedding dress because she figured if she was going to spend a lot of money on a dress, then she might as well spend alot of money on cool shoes that she can wear again.

1. I tried on the Loeffler Randall red flats at A Mano the other day and they are to die for. The perfect ballet falt shape with a graceful cut and just the tiniest bit of toe cleavage. Golly, buy them even if you aren't getting married. They also had a beautiful patent flat in tan from L.R. that could be a great bridesmaid or older flowergirl shoe for a casual or preppy summer wedding.
2. Leslie, I think your girlfriend totally got it right. I love the idea of buying a pair of shoes for your wedding that you can wear again and again. You'd get to think about how lucky you are every time you wear them. Especially if you invest in a good, leather soled, classic shape that you can re-sole and keep forever. Dry your flowers, box your dress, freeze your cake, frame your pictures, but wear your shoes!! Hooray!

Megan, the red shoes from our "Best of 2007" Fashion Report are the J. Renee "Zara" sandals from Nordstrom.com. So fab!
