Mary and Tripp's ultimate goal for their wedding, other than marrying their best friend, was to keep all the details personal. So they set out planning a glowing wedding at Blowing Rock Country Club with all of their favorite things, which included the music of Led Zeppelin and the Beatles, purple flowers galore, and even an ice sculpture of their beloved basset hound, and Caroline Ghetes was there to capture timeless and beautiful photos of their day.
Junebug: What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Mary and Tripp: Rustic, Unforgettable, Personal

Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Mary and Tripp: We mostly wanted our wedding to be “us.” My favorite color has always been purple, so why shy away from having every flower be purple? We are so in love with the mountains, so we wanted the decor to be nature inspired, rustic, and glowing. Some other personal aspects were: a basset hound ice sculpture modeled after our basset named Wednesday, carved pumpkins with our initials, Led Zeppelin and Beatles music in our ceremony, pictures of our parents and grandparents on their wedding day, and Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” as our first dance.

Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Mary and Tripp: The best decision was of course marrying my best friend. We chose songs in the ceremony that meant a lot to us, we worked on writing our vows, and we reminded each other everyday that our wedding was going to be the best day of our lives because we would be husband and wife. I am so glad that I spent time finding vendors that resonated with me and that would help to make our wedding truly unique. My favorite memory of the wedding would have to be dancing like crazy to Atlanta Party Band, surrounded by my husband, best friends, and family.

Junebug: What specifically drew you to Caroline Ghetes and her imagery?
Mary and Tripp: Caroline Ghetes’ photographs are truly timeless. Each photograph is a work of art. We loved how she not only captures beautiful staged photographs, but she displays the quirks and emotions of everyone in such a unique way. To make it even better, when we met we clicked right away and she was amazing to work with. Her attitude and spirit are just as amazing as her photographs.
