Happy New Year! 2012 has come and gone, and as we welcome in 2013, we're thrilled to begin our year with the 2012 Best of the Best Wedding Photo Collection - the best wedding photos of the year!

With nearly 7000 photos submitted from 39 countries around the world, we've have narrowed our selections down to just 50 images that we feel represent the best of wedding photography today. We feel truly honored by and grateful to the photographers who choose to share their work with us, and we are delighted to have a glimpse inside the thousands of extraordinary and deeply personal weddings that these photos came from.
Each year we see different trends emerge, and it is amazing to see how new perspectives inspire the world of wedding photography. This year, as in years past we saw some truly inventive portraiture. The top themes included images containing spectacular vistas with a couple inventively hidden in the composition, or subjects in silhouette, reflection, and other abstract representations. We also saw a big return to classic, romantic black and white imagery harkening back to the days of the Elliott Erwitt and Henri Cartier-Bresson - oh joy! We also saw lots of emotional scenes filled with drama, and the tearful moments that are always part of a complex wedding day.
To say that it was difficult to narrow these images down would be an understatement, so in addition to our top picks we will be sharing our Honorable Mentions throughout the rest of this week. Wedding photography is a spectacular art form that takes true artistry, hard work, and a big heart!
