We're just coming into fair season so what could be more perfect than this playful and unique wedding at the Artisan Building of the Illinois State Fairgrounds? The bride and groom's style is clean and modern but with a twist! To keep things relaxed, Stephanie and Jordan added in fun details like golden circus animals for favors, glowsticks to light up the dance party and a vintage popcorn machine for a late-night treat. Best of all, The Rasers were there with their effortless journalistic style to photograph the day in all of its happy delight.
The Couple: Stephanie and Jordan
The Wedding: 4.28.2012 - The Artisans Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, Springfield, IL
The Photographers: The Rasers

Junebug: What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Stephanie and Jordan: Easygoing, Playful, Us.

Junebug: What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
Stephanie and Jordan: We LOVE simple, clean, mid-century style, but we also like to mix in organic elements and DIY touches where we can. When it comes to style, we don’t take
ourselves too seriously and we aren’t afraid to be a little unconventional. During planning, I remember reading a lot about keeping everything “cohesive” and mapping out your “vision” for
the wedding, but we just went with what we liked, mixed stuff together, and it wound up feeling just right. Jordan designed the menus and programs too! The best compliment we got was that everything felt like Jordan and Steph.

Junebug: Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?
Stephanie and Jordan: Our wedding had one defining moment that everyone remembers. It had been raining off and on all day, and during the ceremony, just after Jordan said “this is
my solemn vow,” a huge burst of thunder rolled through. We started cracking up, and looked out at all of our family and friends who were laughing right along with us. We took it as a good
sign!

Junebug: What specifically drew you to The Rasers and their imagery?
Stephanie and Jordan: Jordan is a graphic artist with quite the eye for design, so I knew choosing a photographer would be a challenge. I seriously cannot say enough good things
about our photographers. We were on the hunt for photographers with photojournalistic style, where the photos transport you to the event and truly tell the story. The Rasers did exactly
that and they were such sweet and wonderful people while doing it-- we couldn’t be more pleased. They took time to get to know us as people before the wedding, and it definitely showed through in the pictures. I seriously cannot say enough good things about them!
