As artists and wedding photographers themselves, finding the perfect photographers to document the day was paramount for Colorado couple Kristie and Tyler. Fortunately they connected with top Denver-based wedding photography duo Jason + Gina, and as you'll see in the gorgeous photos below, their beautiful outdoor wedding at Villa Parker was captured to perfection!
The Newlyweds: Kristie and Tyler
Junebug: What were your most important goals in planning your wedding?
Kristie and Tyler: Making it laid back, comfortable and home-y
Junebug: How would you describe your personal wedding style?
Kristie and Tyler: Vintage natural
Junebug: Where did you hold your wedding and reception, and why?
Kristie and Tyler: Villa Parker because my husband is Italian and we liked the home-y feel and the views.
Junebug: What three adjectives describe your wedding best?
Kristie and Tyler: Intimate, Delicious, all about Family
Junebug: Is there anything else you would like to share with us about your wedding, your love story or your lives?
Kristie and Tyler: We wrote our own vows and had a non-traditional ceremony at our dry wedding. Doing what felt right for us is why that was the best day of our lives, not living up to other people’s expectations. We remember our day with warmth and love. Those who attended were honestly there to be a part of our family that day and to support our connection. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
Junebug: What were you looking for in a photographer?
Kristie and Tyler: Rule breaking creativity. Special, unique compositions and lighting. Professionals with a warmth.
Junebug: What specifically drew you to Jason and Gina and their imagery?
Kristie and Tyler: Their unique creativity and the way they feed off each other and trust one another.
Junebug: What did you enjoy most about working with Jason and Gina?
Kristie and Tyler: My guests and attendants all said they didn’t know Jason and Gina were even shooting most of the time. They got everything needed without intruding into our moments. They have a wonderful sense of humor and patience that’s rare in this field.
Junebug: Please share with any other information about your wedding and photography that you think we should know about:
Kristie and Tyler: My husband and I are both photographers; specifically wedding and fine art photographers, so our choosing our own wedding photographers was our most important decision. Once we found Jason and Gina we knew we could trust them completely.
The Photographers: Jason and Gina
Junebug: How did you approach this particular wedding and what did you most want to capture during shooting?
Jason and Gina: Kristie and Tyler are both very artistic people involved in the photography world. We knew they’d appreciate anything creative we delivered.
Junebug: Were there any special photographic requests from the couple that made this wedding especially exciting creatively or personally?
Jason and Gina: Kristie & Tyler gave us complete freedom to document their day the way we saw it. It was exciting to have such liberty to get them the creative shots they would love.
Junebug: What was the most fun part of this wedding for you to photograph?
Jason and Gina: The most fun was definitely their ceremony. They had one of the sweetest officiants I have ever seen and it was a joy to photograph the emotion between the three of them. The ribbon backdrop during their ceremony was another fun aspect to shoot.
Junebug: Were there any special locations you were able to choose that made for really great images?
Jason and Gina: At this particular venue there are limited locations to shoot. We challenged ourselves to see each nook and cranny as a portrait possibility and photograph it in such a way to provide Kristie and Tyler a diverse set of images.
Junebug: What kind of equipment did you use while shooting this wedding?
Jason and Gina: (2) Canon 5D Mark II, Zeiss 35 f/1.4, Canon 50 f/1.2, Canon 85 f/1.2, Zeiss 100 f/2.0
Canon 135 f/2.0, Leica M9, Zeiss 35 f/2.0, Zeiss 50 f/1.5
