As wedding photographers themselves, Diana and Irving knew from the start just how they wanted their wedding to look, to be experienced, and last, but certainly not least, how they wanted it to be documented! The couple was understandably drawn to Philadelphia based wedding photo journalists AGAiMAGES, and chose them as the team to capture every moment of their red and black accented Mexico wedding.
The Newlyweds: Diana and Irving
Junebug: What were your most important goals in planning your wedding?
Diana and Irving: The challenge was definitely to create a wedding that reflected everything we were as a couple, our tastes, our personalities, merged in one.
Everybody thought that because we are wedding photographers, planning a wedding would be easier for us, but they were wrong. Being wedding photographers made us very picky! We knew what we wanted, but not always how to get there. There were a lot of obstacles, time issues, and fights...but finally everything came into place and we created something beautiful. We were very happy about how things came out. I remember the morning of the wedding, thinking to myself..."please do not be a bridezilla it is not worth it, the day is so short... please, enjoy every second and do not let anything ruin that!" I do not know how I managed (since I consider myself a perfectionist) but I did it!!! Everybody was very happy, they told me I was radiating love and happiness that made them feel the same way.

Junebug: How would you describe your personal wedding style?
Diana and Irving: Chic and modern with a little bit of vintage. Elegant but simple.

Junebug: Where did you hold your wedding and reception, and why?
Diana and Irving: We chose the countryside, Rancho Joya Hermosa, to give the wedding simplicity. We fell in love with the big trees and the old house.
Junebug: What three adjectives describe your wedding best?
Diana and Irving: Unique, lovely, unforgettable.

Junebug: Tell us a little more about how you met.
Diana and Irving: We have been together since high school, Irving says he always knew I was the "one" but we were too young to do something about it at that time. Years passed by, and then 3 years ago we decided to buy a house and live together. I was terrified about getting married, it just simply wasn't the right time for me, and he knew it. Then in 2010 I became a little crazy about wedding stuff, but he wouldn't propose. Until one day, last February we finally decided together, while we were at the supermarket, to get married. There was no ring or formalities, just conviction and lots of love. Instantly we began to plan it, we knew exactly what we wanted. Months later, in November, we traveled to New York to meet our wedding photographers. While we were strolling by Central Park, Irving asked me to close my eyes, I did, and when I opened them there he was down on one knee looking at me very nervously holding a wooden box...with the ring. Lucky for us, our Aga and Marcin were there and took a few shots. Later they told me everything was planned! We had this story printed in very nice booklets to share with our guests. We felt like it was a good way to help them involved in our story.

Junebug: What were you looking for in a photographer?
Diana and Irving: We were looking for someone like us, a couple, easy going with a vintage-elegant style that could capture
things as they are but in a nice way. Personally I wanted somebody that we could rely on, and trust on this very special day without any concern about it.

Junebug: What specifically drew you to AGAiMAGES and their aesthetic?
Diana and Irving: Her style drew me immediately. The way she process images is amazing.

Junebug: What did you enjoy most about working with AGAiMAGES?
Diana and Irving: They were so easy going and cool that we had a blast. We trusted completely in them.

The Photographers: Aga and Marcin of AGAiMAGES
Junebug: How did you approach this particular wedding and what did you most want to capture during shooting?
Aga and Marcin: Each and every wedding for us has one major goal; capture the emotion and beauty in a simple, organic and artistic way. Diana's and Iriving's wedding was no different, we knew this is going to be all about love, family and friends.

Junebug: Were there any special photographic requests from the couple that made this wedding especially exciting creatively or personally?
Aga and Marcin: Because Diana is a wedding photographer in Mexico herself, she gave us complete artistic freedom to capture the day they way we see it. Most of our clients are similar and that what makes it super exciting to be part of such day...to really observe people, their relationships, little and big nuances and know somebody trusts you to capture all of those things.

Junebug: What was the most fun part of this wedding for you to photograph?
Aga and Marcin: Mexico!!!! We adore the culture, the people and ...yes - the food! We instantly became friends with the couple, their family and friends and had a wonderful time being treated like special guests. We simply adored all the emotions that surrounded the day.

Junebug: How did the locations available to you affect the type of images you shot and how you shot them?
Aga and Marcin: Beautiful Mexican ranch, we couldn't ask for better location! However, we don't often have location lust per say; we love the challenge of shooting in different places and we seek out light and try to capture the surroundings to tell a story of love.

Junebug: Were there any special locations you were able to choose that made for really great images?
Aga and Marcin: Again, we always try to incorporate the surroundings but they are secondary to the story of the couple and their family/friends. It is as simple as good light and connection between our couple that makes it all special.

Junebug: What kind of equipment did you use while shooting this wedding?
Aga and Marcin: We shoot with one 5d and one 5d Mark II each, we both use a 35mm and Aga uses 85mm on her other camera and Marcin a 50mm on his other camera. For lighting, off camera flash. We keep things simple.
