As a photographer, I think a lot about moments- how perfect and fleeting they are. Each one is a treasure to me, meant to be netted in from the hands of time, to be enjoyed and cherished forever. I want to capture the beauty, possibility,imagination, electricity, peace, excitement, and love that fill each one. I see each moment as a dream brought to life by the stunning people who create it.

My love for photography was nourished by my grandfather. He used to work in a photography studio in Monterrey, Mexico. I remember him showing me pictures through a wheel, and teaching me how to pull the wheel's handle to look at the next frame. Gifted by his sense of beauty, I began to look at magazines with a fresh set of eyes – seeing a picture, placing it on my bedroom wall, and staring at its splendor. This thirst for creative beauty and for daring perspective now shapes the way I see our world. I purchased my first camera in 1992- I knew right away that my passion was the potential for beauty that lay within its frame.  YazyJo Photographers is the culmination of a lifelong goal for Yazy and John Raclawski –together, along with our daughter, Annahlu, and dog, Heidi (the original victim of my lens!), we are passionate partners in our dream photography business.

Yazy & John Raclawski are a Chicago-based husband and wife photographer team. Two artists, two personalities, two sets of eyes, one creation. We are opposites in many ways, but our creative identities collide to create a perfectly harmonious match. John is the foundation who keeps his feet firmly on the ground, allowing me to dream and to go where the wind takes me. We love traveling through life together, seeking adventure, holding hands, and creating a beautiful future one perfect moment at a time.
